static caravan holiday in France

I am looking to book a caravan holiday in October this year to France, Last time I booked a caravan holiday was around 20 years ago so the company I booked with appears to no longer exist (eurosites).
So can anyone point me in the right direction of a good company to book with and a decent caravan site, with good facilities on site, e.g shop, bar, swimming pool not sure if it would be too late in the season for entertainment?
the only other company I can remember from years ago Eurocamp
We are willing to travel up to around 250 mile from Calais, it would be nice to have at least a village or small town nearby.
Any advice please.

    Thompson alfresco

    Vacansoleil
There are a couple of others based in European countries that escape my memory

    I've been Money Tipped!
We've stayed with Siblu lots of times. Might be worth a punt staying with Campotel, we did once, and they had the best statics on site (better than the Thomson Alfresco, Keycamp, Eurocamp etc, also on the same site), and the reps were really friendly.

    Thanks everyone great information.
Siblu do not appear to have any sites within reasonable distance to Calais.
    Keycamp and Eurocamp have merged
seems the late dates we want to travel rule out quite a few of the caravan parks.
Been looking most of this afternoon seems alfresco are coming out cheapest up to now and Eurocamp most expensive for the same holidays, will look up the other companies. thanks

We have used this French company twice and friends many times and always had great accommodation etc.

Look at the crossings from Portsmouth to cut down the journey and PM me to get a discount on Brittany Ferries if you decide to use them.

    Search using this site

    http://alanrogers.com/campsites/search.php?bar=1&restaurant=1&shop=1&indoorpool=1&sc=14&sr=&scc=&accomm=1

Also look at kawan villages eg La ferme des aulnes

Get a price from alan rogers as they discount ferry crossings if you book accommodation through them

thanks for all advice. Booked today with alfresco, caravan and ferry inclusive for just over £300 to La Croix du Vieux Pont. thought it was a good price for all of us
Very few sites still open late October, so we had a limited choice.
Have taken note of all the other suggested companies, might well book a little jaunt next year to France.
    thanks again

In recent years I've found it's much cheaper to book direct with the campsite and the ferry/tunnel separately - though this has been during the summer holidays, things might be different off-peak.

unless i was doing some thing wrong it was showing more expensive. The ferry price came to £65 return booked through Alfresco, Tunnel was £90 return if booked through Alfresco this includes our car
Static Caravan price was also more expensive booked direct.
this was for 25 October, return 1 November
