Christmas advents

Last years thread is here: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/...ghlight=advent
That will give you some idea re amounts & style.
I'd just pick as many as you can handle then save them to a list on your PC.
Last year I emailed live links to myself & then worked off the email each day.
I also never set target re entry totals per day.If I get some green ticks that is great but I do not panic. An entry is an entry,be it via Advents or the main board.

Hi this will be my first xmas comping! I've seen a lot of exiting talk about "advents". From what I've gathered its competitions ran by companies daily between 1st-24th December,is this right? Do they have their own thread, like the mag daily comps? Or do we just enter them as they come up? Also do you's find you win more in December because of doing them? If so what was your best prize?
Sorry for all the questions haha!,just want to understand how they work.
hi, yes, they have their own thread,
best to subscribe to the thread, that way you'll get instant emails each time a new comp/post is added,

yes, I've had lots of nice wins from the advents,
though I do choose more carefully now which ones I want to win & enter as there's usually loads of them posted
please be a responsible pet owner & spay/neuter your pets, too many strays & not enough homes for them sadly.

I love Advents, there are masses of them.
It can get a bit overwhelming so try to get your cards done and presents wrapped in November
My best prize from Advents was last year when I won a ski holiday for 4 including flights, private transfers, catered chalet, ski hire, lessons and lift passes.
38 Advent wins last year.. yes very well worth doing :j0 -
Wow gizmobenny,38 wins in one month, that's insane! That holiday sounds fabulous aswell
im really looking forward to December now haha! 0 -
Wow 38 advent wins, that's impressive. Last year I won one, which was a mug & pen set and went straight in the charity bag!0

My advice is 'manage your expectations' and with so many more comps on the board you'll need to be a little selective otherwise it can drive you a bit mad
Like cagsd, my wins for the advents last year also totalled one - a lovely papermate pen pack - lovely pens they may be, but one win in thousands of entries is not much return for the extra effort!! :rotfl:
Good luck! :xmassmile=^._.^= You will always be lucky if you know how to make friends with strange cats =^._.^=0 -
Advents can be a lot of effort for very little - last year I had one win - but the year before I won at least once a day so you never knowproud gran to 4 lovely boys and one little girl0

ive won nothing the last two years. not going to bother much with them this year0

I`m hoping to do advents this year I done what I found on the board last year but I'd only been doing it a few months by then. I am hoping I will finally get lucky and have my first win but is there anyone who can advise on ways to organise them? I want to do as many as I can but am afraid ill lose track!0
