Christmas advents

Last year there seemed to be a lot more non-prizes than in previous years (discounts, free delivery, recipes, tips etc).0

Take the end of the month for comp amounts x10 and you have your advents.. Except its EVERYDAY all month.. And they are getting earlier and earlier each year. When I first saw this thread I thought it was an advent notification and to be honest I wouldnt have been shocked :rotfl: It's all good fun though although it's very tiring!
People do such an amazing job at keeping them all up and in order, they should get one of them stars just for doing it!0 -
I have a love hate relationship with them.
Probably stick to what I've done for a few years and pick 20 or 30 of the best ones and ignore the rest.0 -
I adore the advents!!!

118 days to go...... so that is ONLY 94 days until the Advents begin! YEAH!:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0 -
Apology accepted, although you know she'll be along sooner or later with the flashing tree don't you?
I don't have a problem with the advents so much as the way the boards get over run with posters who are apparently clueless. We get threads where there are 1,000,000 of instant wins where everybody who wins post to say they have won; answers getting posted over and over again; the wrong answers getting posting after the right answer is already there...
On the upside there will be haggis!
I love the Haggis Hunt. Not so much for the actual game, but for Farquahar's 'Haggispedia' and 'Haggitat' guides
Doesn't that normally start in November? If so it'll sort of ease us (not so) gently into the madness of keeping up with the advents.
And also getting ready to C&P the 'I won as well' sentence, just to wind everybody up :P lmaooooo (just kidding) I'll be swearing at Excel instead, trying to do my 'advent chart' and realising I have 'Pringles' on 3 times, and missing out 'Stabilo' completely.
BEST EVER WINS WON IN ORDER (so far) = Sony Camcorder, 32" lcd telly, micro ipod hifi, Ipod Nano, Playstation 3, Andrex Jackpup, Holiday to USA, nintendo wii, Liverpool vs Everton tickets, £250 Reward Your thirst, £500 Pepsi, p&o rotterdam trip, perfume hamper, Dr Who stamp set, steam cleaner.

I love advents and have done very well on them. They are very time consuming and I do concentrate on them, forgoing my normal comps.
My best prize ever was an advent last year. A skiing holiday for four with flights, catered chalet, lift passes, equipment hire and private lessons.0 -
I lived in my PJs for 3 days and just ate biscuits!0

Hi this will be my first xmas comping! I've seen a lot of exiting talk about "advents". From what I've gathered its competitions ran by companies daily between 1st-24th December,is this right? Do they have their own thread, like the mag daily comps? Or do we just enter them as they come up? Also do you's find you win more in December because of doing them? If so what was your best prize?
Sorry for all the questions haha!,just want to understand how they work.
