On one of my trips, I went out with one suitcase. I then bought a 2nd suitcase and the clothes to fill it whilst out there.Doshwaster wrote: »Yes, travel as light as possible. Many hotels have their own DIY laundry rooms and you can always do a big clothes shopping trip before coming home to use up your luggage allowance. I hate clothes shopping in the UK but I always bring a suitcase full back from a trip to the US a the prices are so cheap.
However that was before the airlines I looked at (in 2012) had introduced a one suitcase limit. Any more suitcases and you had to pay excess baggage.0 -
Im planning the same sort of trip for next July, though I am going to be there for july 4th.Also I plan to hire a car and drive as I find you see more than just the big cities. I so far have found flights with Icelandic air for around £600,so that means I can include a stop off there aswell.
I find http://matrix.itasoftware.com/ is better for fares.0 -
Thanks smurfy, I had a look at that and it seems we could save about £300 pp if we fly via Iceland so we will give that serious consideration0
