one of my cats has disappeared.. she went out sunday dinnertime and not been seen since.. have searched the area high and low.. no sign of her, she's a devil for going in neighbours garages and has got herself locked in one before now, heard her wowling tho.. nothing this time and no sign (thankfully) that she's been run over on a nearby road..
am gutted and one of the others is pining for her, its not settled since looking out for her in the garden
she's microchipped so am hoping we might hear something...

It is really worring when this happens - one cat we had when I was a child went missing for almost a week, she then came in is if nothing was wrong...
Hamish - one of my current cats - loves the outside, so he can be gone for long periods and you're lucky if you catch him when he pops in for some food...
Have you spoken to your neighbours and asked them to check sheds & garages?
Fingers crossed for you...0 -
Hi Mich_city ((((hugs)))).
Yes, our DP (darling !!!!!-cat) has gone missing about 3 times in her 7 years with us ... and where she's been is a mystery! The last time was about 2 months ago ... she went out just after brekkies and turned up miaowing like mad 5 days later.
We knocked on neighbours and asked them to check garages, and asked friendly neighbours to keep an eye out ... but nothing.
We think she found a boyfriend, but decided life at home was ultimately better .... but really we have no idea where she went.
I hope your DP turns up soon - keep us updated x0 -
Hi Mich,
Our old cat used to do this and it is very dsitressing I know. My partners cat disappeared for nearly 10 months but turned back up again as though nothing happened. Also is your cat insured. If so some insurance companies cover the cost of placing advertising asking for info etc. check your policy. MORE THAN do but I am not sure about the others. Good Luck!Dirty Cash- DEBT BATTLER:mad:0 -
thanks all..
am hoping she turns up.. but although she does like to go out she's never been gone more than over night before now.. she's not a particularly friendly cat (only is on her terms!) so cant see her letting anyone get near enough to take her.. dont want to think of the alternatives really, will just have to hope she does come back..
have tried the neighbours, they are on lookout duties
(not insured but is neutered and chipped)0 -
Our dear departed Charlie was missing for 4 months last year.
We did all you have done with no success, but on second emailing to local Cat Protection 4 months later, he had turned up 10 miles away!!!(Sadly, after 3 months back home he was run over, but we did have 3 very happy months with him home).
Have you done some posters with a photo of your cat on them? This was how we found out what had eventually happened to him. I stuck them on telegraph poles in the area around our neighbourhood.
Hope you find your kitty, don't give up! clOf all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.....0 -
When my cat went AWOL after a week I put an ad in the local paper's Lost and Found, and she appeared from nowhere that afternoon. The lovely woman who took my ad said cats stay away until you advertise that they're missing - they then come back cos they know how valued they are!
It's a horrible thing to happen, but they generally turn up again, usually hungry, and very pleased to be home.0 -
my daughter is making up some posters.. will put them up around the area and in local vets..
didnt think of contacting the CPL, will try to find details and do that..0 -
One of my cats used to wander ALOT. We had 2 cats, one preferred to stay inside, the other would go missing for hours then turn up unexpected.
One day though she went missing for a week and I was beside myself worrying where she could be, or if something had happened. We have an outdoor shed, so I set up a bed, a small bowl of dry biscuits and a bowl of water incase she came back during the night.
Everymorning I'd check to see if any of the biscuits had gone. One morning I got up and checked and the biscuits had gone and there was fur strands in the bed. I called out and she came running from the bushes into the house. Little sod!!
Cats can make you sick with worry at times!!
Try contacting your local cats protection / animal shelter/ vets - someone may have scooped her up and handed her in. I had one of my pedigree cats disappear and was found after 3 weeks following an article in the paper (as they were RSPCA rescue cats, RSPCA did the article) he then disappeared again when a neighbour looked after him when we went on holiday the following year. We think he went off looking for us and his brother (who had died 2 weeks earlier) After 5 months he was found living a mile away after someone had taken him into the vets. He had been living rough for 2 - 3 months then they had taken him in. I cried when I got the call he had been found, and I cried even more when I saw him, as although he was in a lovely condition apart from his mouth (where he had been scavanging) he didnt recognise us or his name. As he was already 12 we felt it better not to distress him and to leave him with his new family as they were obviously looking after him and we had got over our loss once and couldnt go through it again with his age.
Wish you all the very best - I know what you are going throughMortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!0
