Blooming Marvelous do some nice stuff, but my partner found that Monsoon dresses were very generous in size and she could get into them OK when heavily pregnant

How far on are you? The trend this year for smock tops and maxi dresses may mean you can pick something up a size bigger than you are usually and get away with it- good maternity wear can be ridiculously expensive, so I'd try the high street first, fwiw.

No big patterned maxi dresses though, they add volume!! Something with a diagonal pattern or hem takes lbs off;)

I wish I could get into my size 18 stuff- even though I'm not pregnant it doesn't fit:rotfl:

  • Hi all,

    Thank you for your replies.

The Isabella Oliver range looks lovely, I have been drooling over their website.

I am 7 1/2 months, but all my family say if they didn't know different they would think I was having twins (charming!) so definitely need proper maternity clothes.

I did have some lovely smocks I bought in Sainsburys recently, but they are stretched to the limit and not really suitable for weddings
  • Hi there - just as an extra idea I've just had my new Next Directory through (I know I know not very moneysaving hehe) and they have some lovely maternity things in there - you can still see their summer stuff online too and they have some there as well. Web address is www.next.co.uk

I bought a couple of really lovely maternity dresses from this ebay shop:

They come from Thailand so take a little while to arrive, but I was really happy with my purchases, especially as they only cost about £7 each!

How about a sequinned kaftan? Glamorous and floaty, to hide a multitude of sins :) (I'm not pregnant, just have a tummy!)
