Motorola v547- is it locked???
Hi
Bought a v547 from a charity shop today. Was told it was locked to o2. When i put my sim card in it said enter unlock code. It is 4 digits. I tried 1234 and 0000 but it says it is incorrect. Is it o2 or a different network or did the last owner have a lock??? Please help.

It doesnt sound like an unlock code, it sounds like a security code that the person who owned it has put on the phone the default code is 1234 or 0000 which you have already put in, I would try a different network though to be sure, if you put to many wrong codes in then the phone will be locked and its only the original owner of the phone that can ring them up to unlock it.0 -
You can also try the following to try and remove the security code
Put phone in Test mode - 048263* (Push the key quickly!)
you should see this message: "Opcode", 'Cancel' "Okay'
After Putting the phone in test mode then use following commands
to see or reset security code.
User code -> 32*116*1*0*0
Security code -> 32*118*1*0*0 Master Reset -> 18*0
Master Clear -> 18*1 ----
* is Asterisk key on the phone keyboard!0 -
i think the default for motos is 000000 (6 zeros)0

A bit confused by this...When do you put in the first number? Once the screen loads it says unlock code. Only lets you put in 4 digits? Sorry. The phone is for my Mum so it's not hugely important, but thanks for your help!I like my money right where I can see it - hanging in my closet.;)0 -
try taking the sim card out and try it.
i would assume that you put it in once the phone has loaded. i had an SE k608i with a lock code on it, but i could still access the service menu0 -

With the simcard out it says "insert sim" and "emergency calls only". Will only put in 999!!
With sim in, there is no menu. Just asks for unlock code.
