    try reinstalling the driver

    ed2712 - looks like you are missing the driver... Have you got the motherboard disk or utility disk that came with the pc? The driver will be on there, if not search for the driver in google as albertross suggested in an earlier post.

    Try and update/reinstall the driver, you could look if there are and updates as well in 'windows update'.

    thats what i have been narrowing down lads if u read the rest of the post. and we have established all of this already. and as u see above trying to get his motherboard model.

    not much point googling and getting the drivrs that way, as adding in so many drivers and downloading god knows from sites could cause more problems.

    also if any body would of read the thread they would of found his pc....

    sorry im gonna have to leave my help there till 2moro as im shooting out. but its not that hard to track an audio driver down for this, so these guys should be able 2 help.

    when I go onto the Packard Bell website it wont let me access the site unless me pc is still under warranty, unfortunately mines not!

    well the only thing u need off there is the drivers. but that page doesnt have sound. im just in work and when i get a min i will have a look for them if u want.
