    Evening.

Dd1 has gone off for another sleepover. She's getting to the age where she thinks her friends are more important than family. Sunday is dd2's 10th birthday and I've no idea what to get her. She's having a party so the deal is it will be small. I've budgeted £50, but will aim for less.
This evening Oh, dd2 and I took the dogs to the lake. The had a lot of fun swimming. It's funny watching a springer and German shepherd swimming alongside each other. Annoying dog has lost her annoying title as I've bought her a bark collar. It sprays her up the face when she barks. So there is peace now for me and the neighbours. I still feel like it's cruel, but it's less cruel than the ones that shock them.

I need dishwasher tablets and would like to switch to a cheaper brand, do any of you have any recommendations, or noticed any bargains out there? I have a Tesco, asda, lidl and dunnes near me.

    Have a lovely evening

Cant manage to convert OH to newspaper online, he buys one every day (€2!) and I have decided that they breed as living room is littered with junk that comes with paper and paper itself, I seem to be ever picking up.

Wishing you all a pleasant day.

    Marie

Can you buy a subscription for vouchers to exchange for the paper?

I made 80 origami elephants yesterday for Whipsnade zoo while I watched a couple of films. They are trying for a world record and need 30,000 by the end of September the only proviso is that you use proper origami paper (Guinness rules) and the template from the site you do have to sign up for the newsletter though but it is well worth it :)

I've never made an elephant but I was a dab hand at swans & cranes when I was 30 years younger!

caz - I use smartprice dishwasher tablets from Asd@ but only use half for each wash. The water is very soft here so we don't use rinse aid or salt either.
    Dishes always come out sparkling.

    Evening everybody :)

HSthanks.gif for all your good wishes and kind thoughts for today.

The weather turned out quite sunny, even if a little bit chilly, by late morning - so quite pleasant in the circumstances.

Everything went according to plan and ran smoothly. We had a lovely Humanist Minister to conduct the service and everybody seemed to like the way he led things.

Lots of family and old friends/neighbours turned up for the funeral and most of them were able to come back to the club afterwards.

Two of mum's remaining three brothers managed to come along - the other one is looking after his wife who's very poorly at the moment. One of her cousins had driven up from Coventry-area and it was lovely to meet up with him and his wife. He's our 'Family Historian' and he/his wife chatted with everybody to try to get details up-to-date for our Family Tree. Myself and one of my cousins are also very interested in the work he's done and found it very useful to chat with him for tips/ideas on how to do things properly.

I was in bed by 9.00pm - absolutely shattered - and now I'm wide awake again and watching 'Judge Judy'!

Sounds like everybody's had a busy day with work, looking after grandchildren, decluttering etc - guess it's 'time of year' where we're settling down again for the autumn/winter months. Hope we're all managing to make our homes warm and cosy for whatever the seasons manage to hurl at us this year - please, Lord, that it isn't a bad one :undecided!

I'm going to have some Hot Chocolate and see if I can settle back down again for the rest of the night ;).

Night night - God Bless you all - luv Lilyplonk xxx

DH had been nominated to do the Ice Bucket Challenge on Facebook so we got everything ready. Did the challenge while recording him on his camera. When he went to upload it to Facebook he inadvertently deleted it instead and so we had to do it again :)

I was terrified of this happening or of the video not working, I don't want to repeat that! haha

I either use Tesco value brand or Aldi. I didn't like the Asda ones and not tried Lidl.
