Hi Robflh & Impomdasp
Thank you for all the info & websites, over the bank holiday weekend i am going to shop & compare. I am also a newbie to Quidco and forget to use them, but you have reminded me.
My husbands points were for not stopping/reporting an accident, but he was unaware an accident had happened - he was reversing out of a parking space and alledgedly hit a car, the ctv dvd was not very clear. Anyway we were lucky to be advised by a judge(friend) and my hubby was done for driving with undue care & attention, hence 3 points £100 fine.
Did not know this at the time, but hearsay is, if you pay by chq the next day for £5 extra they cannot close the case, cos the accounts do not add up, so if someone was going to get points which would take them over their limit - it would supposedly delay them losing their licence!!!!
Anyway in digressing trfn....YOU LEARN SOMETHING NEW EVERY DAY....

Hi glitzy
Driving without due care and attention is I believe an offence that you have to tell the insurance company about and that means it is going to cost you.
As I remember it, you send a cheque for £100 and fifty pence. They then send you a cheque back for 50 pence. If you do not cash that cheque, they cannot add the points to hubbies licence. However, that was a few years ago and by now that may no longer work.
Anyhow, happy quote hunting.0 -
They will and always have added points regardless of whether you have paid the fine, you have to surrender your licence to receive the points and will get extra points if you don't, and an extra fine.
I'm amazed people still believe these myths lol0 -

Hello
I would suggest to cut food to £35 a week and any other laundry, toiletries to £15 a month (you need to plan ahead, though). This is what I did I, it has made a hugh difference. By the way, we only eat top quality food. I will not eat any rubbish.
Sorry to make the obivous one, but you need to stop Sky, and reduce football ect out going. I did all these options to help my problem with over spending and its the only way to go. You do get an extra-ordinory life and be in profit. It's just the way you look a life.
I do thing it is hard at the start but once you get your head round the overspending and face the debt problem. It can only get better!0 -

Hi glitzy
The car insurance may not be until October but you could still have got it at the same time as the van insurance and cancelled the old car insurance.
Hopefully, you would get a refund on the old car insurance. Next year get quotes for each vehicle and quotes for insuring both at the same time. Bearing in mind that doing them separately, will get you double the cash back.
Using Lloyds as an example, the van will get you £120 cash back and the car will get you £120 cash back (with any luck). If you insure them both together, you would need to save more the £120 before it would be any cheaper.
How many times do you think you and your daughter can play chop sticks before your OH turns in to a magician and makes the piano disappear. He He
A month or so before the 0 percent offer ends, Apply for a Barclaycard. At the moment, they are offering 10 months at 0 percent. If you get it, transfer as much as you can from the 0 percent cards.
If not, ask your other credit card companies what percentage they can offer you for BT’s. You might have to do both.
If you are turned down again for a credit card, you will need to kill a couple of the ones you have now and then apply for a new one. There is still no guarantee that you will get one but you would have a better chance of getting one.
Have a great holiday and remember, when you get back it is serious budgeting time and that includes the OH.0 -
Hi Robflh
Sorry have not heard from you for awhile, my fault i know cos of the piano, but im still laughing about the comment of my husband being a magician etc - that was so funny:T Have paid for hol but as i paid with credit card got charged £17!!!But as im in the travel industry i did get £70 discount.
Just so you know as you are keeping an eye on me, which i like, my 0% cards run out may & april08, so i probably will wait til next year and hopefully everything will of settled down by then & my credit should be ok then.
Also hol not until nov, so you cant get rid of me that easily!
