I took the risk of going private so nothings sacred there! Im not sure I have the nerves to last it out but I can see why you have, its hard to move if its a good job and you have been safe so shows your appreciated!! Not fun when morale is low and feeling insecure is a horrid feeling!

I will keep everything crossed for the both of us to come through the other side happy and paid!

Hi CreamTea thanks for popping in! They have released the new job info but Im worried about all the new aspects of it, more work and less people to do it! Have an interview on Friday for a care home, back to elderly nursing which I loved in my training but as my Nan was diagnosed with Alzheimer's whilst I was training it felt too raw so I opted to work with adolescents instead! Its a pay cut and means shift work but I am thinking it could be well worth it if they want me! If not will reapply for this job anyway as its well paid!

Got paid yesterday but have an AWOL bank card so decided I should cancel it just in case...waiting for the new one and I desperately want to move my money around and see what I can OP on the mortgage! Decided I shouldn't let it slip until I have too!

Big dog is going for an X-ray on her leg in a couple of weeks as it hasn't been right for yonks and she is not one to show pain! My paranoia has prompted us to get it investigated just in case! Little dog is doing really well with his Diabetes medication which is great, completely house trained again!

Big girl has been limping this weekend, most unlike her she also whimpered a couple of times which breaks my heart! Thank goodness she is booked in for an X-ray, she seems a little less bothered today which is good though!

Got offered the job at the home but feel that I should investigate working with the Elderly before I jump, just in case I am not happy there... Going to re-apply for my current job and look at joining the nurse bank where I could then do an extra two shifts a month and explore elderly nursing to help me make a sound decision! Never turned down a job before so feel a little apprehensive, especially as I may not get my old job back and then I could be up the creek!

In better news had fuel costs re-imbursed which I sent off to the mortgage, thats a grand total of £500 OP this month! I cant believe it and am so so happy! On the spreadsheet I have that I downloaded of the net it says we have already paid £4,500 in interest, thats not as happy making!!

Will pop in tomorrow when I find out this months LTV (it takes a day for it to go in!!) and hope that the extra OP will make it in for the same time as the standard one!

    Found you :)

 at your gas prices. In the short term can you save money by having the bottles refilled?

Hope you manage to get some job security soon.

Nice to see you Pavlovs Dog! Unfortunately they collect the bottles to re-use them anyway! Knocked down to £50 per bottle so a whole fiver saving!! Shocking compared to mains gas last year in our old house!!

Finally saw the money go into the mortgage account today, very exciting stuff! Mortgage stands at £183,028.46 with an LTV of 93.86%! We have paid off £655.63 from the total amount and next month it will be in the 182's! Each 1% is £1850, so far with this payment we are £259 into the next %. Quite like breaking it down into chunks makes it feel more achievable!

A week from payday and I still have money in my account! Hoping to not spend much between now and then as will OP the extra into my mortgage!

Have enough of my own savings to pay for two months bills if I do lose my job, should know mid March where I stand and then will have a month to find something new, its the CRB checks etc that all take so long even if I find a job! Trying to not worry as its all out of my hands anyways! Two more good paydays before I would be out on my bum so will hold on to that thought!

Have planted over 50 of the hedges now, cleared a load of brambles and cleared some nice space up at the top of the garden which feels good! Spent hours out last Sunday as it was a lovely day, spent 2 hours out there today and then it hailed!! Very excited to see little buds coming up on the trees, so excited to see it in Spring! And the hail has just started again...weather!

Feeling pretty bummed out about work prospects this week, hubby is working away so its just me and the doggies, they aren't interested in talking about work woes...they just want to talk about their toys, chewing and food, oh and they tend to sleep a lot so not really great conversationalists! Good for snuggles though.

Have completed the online Kennel Management Course, realised I started it in Feb last year! Could have done it quicker but my interested wavered and I payed per module which was easier and felt less overwhelming on top of work. Would love my own kennels, this is my dream job, or something of that ilk. Wondering if we may get permission for a cattery as I would love to work from home, play with cats then my dogs all day! Still hoping I get to keep my job, feel sick thinking about it!

Decided to not OP extra into the mortgage this month but to squirrel it into my savings for worst case scenario...

  • Oh that's bad timing for hubby to go away. When do you think you will hear about work? It's must be horrible having it hanging over you. I still have everything crossed for you!

Hi Creamtea, thank you for having everything crossed, I have had a provisional offer of the new job, though that means that 5 others in this area have been told they are going to be made redundant which is bittersweet! I'm still not safe as those who are getting told they will be redundant can appeal and possibly change the scores which would in turn mean they could have a higher score on me then take my job offer...though I could then appeal...exhausting stuff! Will know for sure by 16th March.

So feeling slightly relieved that I am partially safe job wise, but still not adding an extra OP to the standard OP until I know for sure, have moved it to my saving for now!

Pay day today, have had fun moving my money around and looking at how healthy the house account looks when me and hubby chuck our money in it! Bit annoyed that wont be able to see our current mortgage until at least Mon or Tues as the 1st is on the weekend, N@twest do seem a lot slower than s@ntander and b@rclays at moving money in etc!
