Instant memory loss?!

Options
Does anyone suffer instant memory loss? As in you say something and immediately have forgotten what you have said? I don't mean this every now and then, I mean constantly, forever forgetting everything.

If so, have you found any miracle cures? Or any aids whatsoever?

  • If your as bad as that I think you need to discuss the matter with the G.P as lots of things can cause memory loss like stress, depression, drinking, some medications, drugs etc.
You need really to find out the cause and go from there really.
  • I agree with dandelionclock30, if it's as bad as that, I'd make an appointment with the GP if I were you.

Now and again, if say I'm not concentrating properly or I'm tired, I sometimes can forget what I'm going to say, but I think that's quite common and usually prompts people to say "ah, must have been a lie then!", but to forget what you've just said, I'd get checked out if I were you. Especially as it's happening a lot.

    How old are you btw?

Agreeing with the GP appointment, it's in your best interests.

I completely lose my trail of thought sometimes, not because I get distracted.

My oh says I do this a lot. I can stop mid way through a sentence and completely forget what I'm talking about. Or we can be discussing something and he'll pause waiting for me and I have forgotten the conversation...... It's not all the time, every couple of weeks. Plus he'll mention something we've done maybe a year ago, or what we discussed etc and I honestly have no recollection of what he's talking about.....
Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....

  • I have this happen, not on a daily basis - but several times a week

It is worse if I am having a conversation and am interrupted when I am talking - it is almost as if my memory has been wiped sometimes and I find it massively frustrating

It is not something that has just happened for me, Ive always been like it so I figured its normal for me

I have anaemia and this happens to me because of it, its getting less often as my iron levels increase

I often forget what programme i'm watching when the adverts come on. I have moments in my life where big chunks of memory seem missing, but i've had that for years, i'm 46.

Oh my goodness, this is totally me!

My memory is really really bad, and I have felt recently that it has got worse.

I find myself writing lists to try and combat the memory loss, then forgetting to look at the lists :o

I've thought for years that I am anaemic. I actually have a liquid iron supplement upstairs, forgot I had it!!!

Anyone else had any success with treatments?
