Morning all
Raining here, hubby decided we needed a trip to Aldi this morning just as I started typing, I spent a while explaining that they don't take credit cards & they charge for carrier bags, but of course he didn't believe me, until we came to pay! He had enough cash as we only spent about £30, I've shopped there before & at Lidl but hubby is usually a label queen, suddenly he decide he would be brave & try alternatives! I'm not sure what I'm eating next week as he bought pork chops, belly pork & pork ribs, lol, I can't eat pork. I hope he decide he likes their stuff & I can shop there a lot more often & at Lidl.
No plans for the rest of the day, the weather is appalling, torrential rain on & off.
I might set my sewing machine up on the kitchen table as all the things I foraged are now processed & put away.
Molly, lovely to see a post from you, I bet your boys will be muddy when they get back, my kids always were. LW do you still have Ted staying.
Have a good day everyone.

Morning. Today I am in sunny Aberdeen, it's not too often that Aberdeen can be described as such. Work here for three days and home on Thursday. My hotel room has a view of the harbour, just a wee squint to the right needed to get the full glory of the rig support ships and the Shetland ferry!
Aberdeen's not as bad as it's made out, everyone talks about how grey the granite is but if you look close there's sparkles in it! If you need any suggestions on how to entertain yourself outside work time am happy to make some suggestions
I've just finished doing this trail which was really enjoyable and there are quite a lot of them within easy walking distance from where you're staying.

Lily as with others I hope tomorrow goes as well as these events can.
Today I'm looking forward to an evening of peace and quiet with a spot of housework thrown in. Although I'm enjoying spending time with the new BF it's hard when you're used to spending the majority of your time on your own to suddenly be spending all your time with someone else. I never brought up the bus pass conversation as a number of plans changed at the weekend. We were supposed to be apart on Friday (me at a 50th and him at a wedding reception) but he asked if I'd like to go with him. I hadn't met his friends yet and thought it was encouraging he wanted to take me so I split my night between the two.
I did get time yesterday to do two loads of washing which are currently drying indoors, both bathrooms are cleaned and the vestibule was vaxed and moped (is that a double p or single p word??). I also put bits from my AS kit onto our local team page to try and sell them off for leaving at the end of the month. I need to go through all my bits and see what can be redistributed/binned/repurposed. Might try to do some of that tonight.
I also want to reorganise my shoe cupboard so I can actually find more than one pair of shoes. I'll then declutter my sky+ while doing the ironing and follow it up with a Rock N Roll early night haha
Hugs to those who need or want them

ETA I have the toilet duck gel thing that sticks to the loo, I bleach it once or twice a week depending on how dirty/used they get (just me at the house normally and downstairs loo doesn't get used daily)0 -

Gosh, that's brilliant - many thanks! I wondered what the dolphins were about. There's one in the rail station and one outside ASV. I'll have a bash at the central ones. I like Aberdeen, was last here in April when the fog rolled in and stopped transport. And I was staying in the worst P Inn in the world. Now I'm in the new'ish hotel on Shiprow and it's lovely.
Mid afternoon break almost over. Off to plan a walk for tomorrow. :T Was going to go to the cinema but the walk looks better.0 -
Do any of you live in Edinburgh?
Just asking because my DD is getting married there (in the old bit) next May and wondered if any one local knows of any holiday lets? I have had a look on the net and found a few but thought I'd ask you all as well0 -
Lilyplonk very best wishes; hope all goes well.MrsLurcherwalker wrote: »All the fish are rehomed and back in ponds so presumably much happier now and He Who Knows has sawn up what was salveageable from the sleepers round the pond and is now having a very discreet bonfire and burning all the rotted ones, it smells wonderful. Am I as sad as I think I am? I love the smell of autumn with bonfires, frosty mornings, chrysanthemums and slightly bosky compost heaps with a smidge of rotting leaves, it's lovely!!!We've been battling with the cat to get a piriton tablet in her prior to her vet visit for her injections on Thursday , she has to have a quarter twice a day for 4 days as she is allergic to the injections , hope it works because last year she was really poorly when she had them .
Meanwhile.... I couldn't resist.... Have a look at this:

We have a similar thing when Lizzie leaves; Bailey & Cassie will be arriving. We don't have the same issues as with Ted, but there'll only be me and the franchisee, as Mr LW will be at work that day. What we shall do is let B&C into the garden and leave them there while we get Lizzie loaded into the car. They'll be fine - they've stayed here many times, and can be trusted to be out there on their own for 10 minutes. I just have to remember to lock the back door, as Bailey can stand on his hind legs and turn the handle!:DIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
LW, so nice to hear you are having lots of furry visitors.
Lily, hope all goes as well as possible tomorrow.
I've been batch cooking for the freezer, 4 x cottage pie, 4 x fish pie, 2 x bolognese sauce.
I've decided I'm having baked Camembert tomorrow when hubby has pork belly & stuffed portobello mushrooms when he has pork chops.
Time I cleared up the kitchen again

Happy to help. We've really enjoyed it and they might even be the reason we're a 'we' now. We saw one on our first date and I explained the idea behind them, he suggested we do the trail and it gave us a reason to meet up again. A month later we see each other almost every day
I've not been in either hotel you mention but have heard nice things about the one you're in. That was certainly some weather we had earlier this year, I'm actually about 7 miles down the A90 in a coastal village and felt like it was full of dementors! (Harry Potter reference, apologies if too geeky haha)

DD and soon to be SIL set off around 11 this morning to beat bad traffic conditions after having breakfast and taking loads of stuff to the tip for us.
Two DDs have gone shopping to look for bridesmaid dresses and smart work clothes and I have made butternut squash and green pepper soup for DH later and planning a steak and mushroom pie for DDs and fish with veg for DH.
Pleased the loft has been cleared and had the first decent sleep for a week last night.
Crossing fingers and toes that hospital can suggest treatment for DH on Thursday. So far he is enjoying the fruit juices, smoothies and soups but not so keen on some of the veggie substitutes likes sausages and fillets.
Lame Wolf
Glad you are enjoying so many pet visitors.
