Good Morning everyone, wet, wet, wet here today but we really need it for the gardens so although it's not pleasant, it's welcome.
Nothing much planned for today but I'll clean both bathrooms and dust and vaccum everywhere as DD1 is coming home for a couple of days this week. It's her birthday in early September but school starts on her actual birthday so we'll have our little celebration a bit early and I'll send her back with a cake to have on the day. The pond is totally gone now and I'm amazed at how much bigger the garden looks without the pond surround. That is also gone as the rotted wood burned fiercely last night and is now a small pile of ashes on the soil.
Hope you all have a nice bank holiday Monday doing things you want to do, Lyn xxx.0 -

Morning all
lilyp. My thoughts are with you and your family , hope all goes well tomorrow x
candlelight glad you are feeling better x
molly don't overdo it x
I started de cluttering this weekend, did the airing cupboard, I'm so embarrassed at the amount of old bedding stored in there, in good condition but I would never use it again, it's now washed and ready to go to charity. Also de cluttered my wardrobe and drawer under the bed. I want to do so much more as the house is rammed , but it's always a battle as DH is a hoarder
I made a lasagne yesterday for today's lunch as it's DDs favourite meal so no need for cooking today
We've been battling with the cat to get a piriton tablet in her prior to her vet visit for her injections on Thursday , she has to have a quarter twice a day for 4 days as she is allergic to the injections , hope it works because last year she was really poorly when she had them .
Looks like a quiet day , it's raining so no washing to do , or gardening maybe some more de cluttering if I throw DH off the scent :rotfl:
Have a lovely bank holiday everyone xx0 -
Good morning everyone
It's stopped raining here for a bit but very grey and heavy looking clouds are poised over the house. I have washing to catch up on as always but will be definitely tumbling it today. At least it will warm the house up a bit.
I'm so excited, I decided last night that I would ressurect my old hobby of card making. I have had all my machines and dies stored in the attic for the past few years and my lovely hubby is going to get them down for me. I gave away all my paper, card and embellishments to our local brownie troop so I will have the fun of restocking. I'm just going to make them for my family and friends and I can't wait :j:j. I really need something to do when the kids go back to school as I am going to be alone most days and housework only goes so far
.
Hope everyone's Bank Holiday is going well despite the weather. Lilyplonk, I will be thinking of you and your family tomorrow as you give your mum a great send off. Take care xx0 -
Morning All
Not raining here yet either, but doesn't seem far away.
Still avoided going to the shops, searched the freezer and found some mash I had put away when I had too much, and carrots and a bag of Roasties☺️. So managed another dinner. Still half a loaf left, but cereal & oats getting thin now too. Meat & Fish plentiful, so just need fresh veg, etc., to go with them. Got some chicken breasts thawed, so deciding whether I should stretch it another day, or go while the weather is carp, so we can get on with things tomorrow when it it forecast better. Decisions, Decisions.
lily Hope everything goes well tomorrow, I am sure you have felt in limbo, and will feel better afterwards, though it will be hard at the time.
Molly Baby steps, I am sure having DD home is helping you, are you making the boys strip at the door when they return!!
Gers Enjoy Aberdeen, and send some sunshine a bit further south.
DH will be 65 on Wednesday, so we are going out for the day, more pennies coming in is the upside. 😉
((Hugs)). spoons, positive vibes, all round. Take care everyone. DGMember #8 of the SKI-ers Club
Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
Morning all
Lilyplonk- thinking of you and the funeral tomorrow x
Candlelight- I hope you feel better today
Molly- great to keep occupied, don't tire yourself tho
Dumpling- what a great idea, and in time for Christmas too!
Raining here too but no gardening needing doing so not a problem
Going to £land when DH gets up. We've been living with just one lightbulb in the ceiling lights instead of 3/5 but not only does it look awful but it's messing up my eyesight. I thought it would save on electricity, but with the prices of glasses it was a false economy! I'll be buying lots of bulbs today
All this talk of lemon cake has made me want to bake one, so I will pick up a lemon today and make it in time for DS1 getting back from Wales, that way I won't be "forced" to eat it all myself
I have a friend coming tomorrow to visit for a couple of days and we will be putting her up in FIL old house which is still unlived in. We've been friends for 18 years and get on great, but last visit was a bit strange and I got the feeling she was being a bit flirty with my DHI'm a bit apprehensive about her coming esp as she's had a new boob job and been going on about how much weight she's lost...... I will keep you all posted...
Have a great day all, hugs for those in need x0 -
Good morning everyone
We survived town yesterday and managed to get everything that was still needed for school. Spent a fortune but DD owes us half of it and will pay it back over the next few weeks. GDD was desperate for a go on the zip wire that is currently up in the city centre but at £15 for a few seconds ride, I wasn't being talked into it. Later I managed to get a VIP ticket for 4 people for the wheel for a total cost of £12.50 so hopefully she will be happy with that.
Pouring down here so not much going on today, am going to make a large pan of Thai yellow chicken curry and freeze some individual portions.
tru - I had a feeling you would like that Rowan site, I get lost in there for many a happy hour. Have you seen this website: http://crafts.creativebug.com/convert-knit-stitches-crochet-stitches-1808.html
Love the names for the new arrivals x
adelight - I forgot to say hello and welcome back yesterday x
Molly - you sound like you are very busy but please take it easy and don't do too much at once. Small steps and all that x
lilyplonk - hope all goes well tomorrow. Love and hugs to you and your family x
Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those that need or just want them. Keep well and safe and have a super day.

I'm changing my cleaning products to vinegar & water, bicarb and value bleach etc. but I do like to use toilet bloo, toilet duck and the gel that stcks to the side of the toilet. Now, having two toilets, this can work out expensive, especially the toilet duck as I squirt it in both each night so what do others use please?2016 Grocery Challenge January: £296.20/£300 February: £262.05/£3000

Morning all,
Missed yesterdays thread as I was out all day and not had a chance to read yet.
Candlelight - Hope you are feeling better soon.
Molly - Don't overdo things.
LillyPlonk - Sending you a (((big hug))) and hope it all goes good tomorrow.
jlhmd666 - Maybe I am just scaffy, but I don't put anything down my loos except when I clean them a couple of times a week, I put some bleach round.
I've had a lovely family couple of days. Saturday I saw my brother and his family and yesterday we went to Oxford to a family Christening. I worked out it was the fourth christening I have ever been to and three of them are the same side of the family. I think I must come from a family of heathens!
Raining here today so will have to dry the towels indoors.
Happy Bank holiday everyone0 -

I used to use all of those but now I just use the thick bleach from Home Bargains/Quality Save etc, I think it's about 40p a bottle and works brilliantly. I once bought the large bottle thinking it was a bargain but it doesn't have the directional nozzle so I actually used more and hence it wasn't cheapLBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin
