I would agreed with the seller - if the item is worth more than £200.00 so whats the problem.

Nice theory, up to the point where some poor mug doesn't receive his item and puts in a claim. Buyer refunds him the item price alone. Ebay won't make the seller refund the postage.

Still think it's ok?

I would agreed with the seller - if the item is worth more than £200.00 so whats the problem. If you don't like the sellers condition don't bid for it. It has nothing to do with ebay - ya ya ebay T&C so what... ebay have make enough profits .... She could be just an occasional seller.

I actually have no interest whatsoever in this item so I don't intend bidding on it - I messaged him/her to see what his/her response was (sorry, I thought it was obvious why) - I do have a problem with ppl avoiding ebay fees for the exact reason that Fay said, if someone does buy this and anything goes wrong, they will loose all of the postage amount - is this fair? I think not, and besides, how can you say it has nothing to do with ebay - the auction is on ebay therefore it has everything to do with them - and occasional seller? does this give him/her the excuse to hike the cost up or are you meaning perhaps they've not had chance to read the terms and conditions??

I don't like paying ebay or paypal fees either, but if I want to sell on ebay I have little choice but to adhere to their t&c, same way as I dont like having to stop at red traffic lights on an empty road in the middle of the night - doesnt mean I drive through them though.

He is also selling a watch for 99p with £129.00 postage! I enquired if this was a mistake and the reply was -
Hi,

No it is correct postage £129. Do you think that I am selling this watch for 99p, which you can buy it from high street for £825.

if I list it at higher price I have to pay high fees to the ebay.

I hope it is now clear

Oh dear I have accidentally reported him too! Mind you that was yesterday and its not been pulled yet so sometimes I wonder if you cant beat em join em!!

These watches, more commonly referred to as "Crud Bowman", are absolute rubbish and worth £20 at most. So 99p BIN with postage £1.29 would be more realistic!
For some reason I've reported a couple of this seller's items as well, for excess p&p - don't know how that happened?:p
