Is this a genuine error or a genuine attempt to avoid ebay fees?

Oh dearie me, my mouse slipped and I accidentally reported them.
I don't believe it's a mistake - they say the item is worth £1k but they've started it at 99p.My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
For that price Id expect it to arrive by helicopter!!!0

Hi, Could you please confirm the postal charges for this as you have stated £174.00 in the auction description - what method of posting would you be using? Alternatively, would you accept collection as although I am interested in the item, I am slightly put off by the high charge unless of course and error has been made. Many thanks.
Will let you know if s/he replies!!0 -
If the item was worth that much, would you spread it out on the FLOOR to take pictures of it ??? I don't think I would, and buyers protaction is only up to £150, that wouldn't even cover the postage if you had to clame...........
mmmmmmmmm........................dodgy me thinksLiving the Dream...............:A

This was the reply:
Hi ,
Well the postage is £14.99 via parcel force 48. Well due to paying high fees for the ebay ( for the listing + final value of the winning bid) that I have to pay. So I didn't like to start the auction with £160, as I said I have to pay high fees. If you are paying by the paypal, so I have to pay 3.4% for the receiving money, plus tax, .. you can imagine how much money we have to pay for different bodies. you can collect it but I will substract £14.99.
I hope that is now clear, and any question just e-mail.
thanks for your interest

Perhaps they throw in the 2p piece as a discount to help with the postage!!

I hope you replied to him stating that circumvention of ebay fees isn't allowed ..."Beautiful young people are accidents of nature, But beautiful old people are works of art."

I would agreed with the seller - if the item is worth more than £200.00 so whats the problem. If you don't like the sellers condition don't bid for it. It has nothing to do with ebay - ya ya ebay T&C so what... ebay have make enough profits .... She could be just an occasional seller.0 -

The "problem" is fee circumventing. If the item is worth more than £200 then for gods sake list the starting price as £199, or, add a reserve. Dont hike up the P+P to cover your costs.
You may not manipulate eBay’s system in order to avoid paying certain eBay fees.
Regardless how much he/she sells, it doesnt make it right.0 -

here again, buy for 99; and pay £129.00 p&P
Maybe I should list all mine with a buy it now for .99p and hike up my postage, hey maybe some people wouldn't even check the postage.........
I think its wrong, I agree ebay and paypal make a good cut, but if we all did this the whole thing wouldn't work.
Just my opinion2007 £1749
