If there was anything wrong there either the doors wouldn't shut / seal properly or the window would be cracked. All your base are belong to us.0 -

You seem to have gotten away with it so far, but with bonded screens actually being part of the structure now of many cars, I wouldn't be surprised if the 'screen didn't crack over the next couple of days. The A pillar is a very tricky area to repair and the cost of doing it properly would be huge, so a bodyshop with a spot welder/puller set up would be a compromise.0

Went into a ditch? Pushed out by a couple of random pedestrians. That damage looks odd for being in a ditch unless he hit something. Lost control, first year, no wonder you don't want to inform your (his) insurance company. Hope nothing goes wrong in the near future or your insurance may be invalidated for not reporting the accident.:cool:0

Really worried about the screen cracking now... Maybe he should take the bus until a mechanic can inspect it...0

There's not a lot that inspecting will tell you. If the screen cracks, the screen cracks. At which point, the car is dead, because trying to replace the screen will probably see the new screen not actually fit - or just crack again.
From that pic, I'd be surprised if it does, though.0 -

As I said, I'm pretty certain that insurance only need to know if another person/vehicle/animal was involved or if "street furniture" was damaged...
The contract you signed with the insurance company will require reporting of all incidents.
IF they find out that you've not informed them, they could cancel your insurance, meaning that you have to tell every insurance company that you've had insurance cancelled FOREVER.
Just so you're aware of the risks.0 -
Reading through my documents it doesn't seem to be the case... Also, when I first passed my test several years ago I reversed into a gate post, causing a dent. I just got it repaired and that was that. I think I'd have felt a bit silly telling the insurance company!0
