Seriously - who gets intimidated or troubled by kids seeking sponsorship, even persistent ones?

Next time tell them that you have existing charities that you donate to and won't be sponsoring them anymore, then close the door.

There are posts time and time again from a relative on Facebook asking for sponsorship. It then goes on things like a pre-school trip, which is something I'd rather not sponsor tbh.

Surprised the parents (unless they know the neighbours really well) allow their children to just go around asking for donations.

When did the children go back to school? The new school year hasn't started yet where I live in the UK!

Children in Scotland go back sometime around mid-August.

I give £50 pm min to the local school's sponsored events / charities.

The amount being asked is very reasonable.

    Every month? :p

Since when was it reasonable to go around knocking on peoples doors to ask for sponsorship every month?

Have these children been knocking for sponsorship just during the school year or have they knocked during the holiday period as well? If they're just back this month and are already knocking for sponsorship then I would be contacting the school!

Personally I would refuse, no matter how tearful the child looked.

We have sponsored events at the children's school and I just stick in £10 from us. If my parents happen to be visiting at the time I may ask them. I would never ask neighbours.
