What is the BEST Mobile phone?

hi,

I already have a samsung d500, but i am going to purchase a new mobile phone (sim free or pay as you go if i have to, i'm not interested in contract phones).

i'm looking to spend around £150 i was interested in the LG SHINE mobile but looking at other forums for reviews it doesn't seam as great a phone as it looks.

i am however interested in NOKIA 6280 I think there is a 6288 dont know what the difference is. i definately like the slider feature as i am used to it in the samsung phone. It looks nice and i'm sure its easy to use like all the previous nokia's i used to have.

i dont particularly like the samsung software as the menu is all over the place and the signal is crappy. i know its based upon nokia software but it is still different; even after having it 2/3 years i am still having to search around for a feature or a setting somewhere, which i previously never had to do, so i am thinking of not bothering with a samsung again.

Does anyone have a Nokia 6280/6288 if so what is it like and do you know
where i could buy it, id rather buy from a store in town that way i can return it if there is a problem.

Also what phones do people recommend/like?

i would recommend any sony ericsson (k750i, k800i, w810i etc) as they are easy to use and have loads of features.

i have a k750i and the camera easily beats most other 2mp cameraphones

    Hi

I'm looking for a new phone aswell and the Samsung D900i looks really good - I've read quite a few reviews and they read well. I had a look in the shop and it seems to be easy to handle as opposed to those with "touch" keys.

    Best of Luck!

  • I'd go with the SE K800i with it's 3.2 megapixel cybershot camera.

A new one at Carphonewarehouse costs £139.95 and includes £10 o2 credit. Even though its sold on the o2 network the phone comes unbranded & unlocked. Saves you a few pounds and the trouble of getting it unlocked if you want to use your existing simcard on another network. If you have an old mobile you can trade it in for £10, every little helps.

Its not big and its not clever.
  • One thing to bare in mind about SE K750i and K800i is the the joystick. I had a K750i for a year on contract and I had issues with the joystick being unresponsive for the last 5 months I owned it. Everyone I know who has owned one (another 4 people) have had the same issue. Through reading forums I understand that the K800i has the same issues. However I do know of some people who haven't had a problem. I only mention this as you are planning on buying the phone outright, not on contract, and therefore potentially plan on keeping it for a while rather than upgrade after a year.
If this has been of any use please click on THANKS, it makes me look good.
  • PS - I've got a Nokia 6300 which I'm very happy with. It's light, thin, looks good, and works perfectly. The camera is 2MP but overall not as good as the K750i camera. If you really like SE phones the K550i (essentially an updated K750i in a slimmer package with a pad rather than joystick) is very good.

well i have bought a nokia 6288, so far so good but the navigation buttons ar a bit dodgy, most phones seam to suffer from this.

i got it on T mobile, for next 10 days i got FREE internet then after that its £1 for a whole day.

fantastic accessories i been transfering my music from my pc to the phone, there is a heck of a lot of menu's in there and sub menu's it will take some time for me to get used it. as its quite different from the last nokia i had 3/4 years ago.

2mp camera is very good, certainly better than my old phone. i was tempted by a sony ericson but ti looked ugly and the nav button was worse than the nokia at the time.

    i'll see how it goes.

I have the LG Shine. It's a great looking phone but not as good technologically(!) as others i've had. The reception isn't great in some areas, despite my last phone (same network) working fine and sometimes, when i slam the phone closed too hard, it switches off (but maybe thats just my phone!) Despite this, i love it. It looks cool... and it looks cool!!
I like my money right where I can see it - hanging in my closet.;)
  • Nokia 6288 can be bought on the 3 website(obviously locked to 3)for £110.

yeah i know about that offer i have looked over the internet about if it can be unlocked but it seams to be hard to do.

so i opted for t-mobile, it cost more money but i got 10 days free internet access, 5 amount of free international pic messages and some thing else i cant remember lol. i dont know what offers 3 does?

    so far so good.

by the way does anyone know what the code number is for operating bluetooth i tried it yesterday but it asks for some number i get this on my old phone too but i cant see anywhere in the manual about what the code nor does it even mention where to get it from??
