Vodafone/Phones4u issue with NHS discount

Hi all,

I hope Im posting in the right section, Im looking for a bit of advice with an issue we are having with phones4u/Vodafone. I will try and keep it as simple as possible;

-Phones4U offer my wife a Vodafone contract on a new mobile contract at £35 approx.

-They tell her that she will get 20% off with nhs discount but she will have to go into Vodafone shop or email them within 30 days of the contract starting.

- Wife goes into Vodafone to claim discount and Vodafone tell her that she cannot claim discount via a 3rd party (phones4u) and advise her she should take the issue up with phone4u.

-Wife rings phone4u and they say they will listen to the calls and get back to her within 48 hours.

- 5 days later no reply from phones4u so she rings them back. Their reply is that she was not specifically told she would get NHS discount. (even though the salesman went as far as to work out how much her contract would be with the NHS discount)

- She asks to here a recording of the calls and is told that she would have to pay £10 to listen to them!!

That is were we are up to so far, hope that makes sense!! Can anyone on here offer a bit of advice? I believe their is/was a Vodafone customer service rep who uses these forums. Could somebody please point them in the direction of this thread if possible.

Thanks in advance

Jamie

Vodafone are correct it is a P4U issue as they sold the contract

Pay the money and get a transcript of the call, you can claim it back later
It's not just about the money

    Hi

Vodafone's correct it that its direct contracts only. Phones 4U should know that. However before you start spending any more money you may also want to check with her HR group. Not all trusts have the discount, its usually where the trust uses Vodafone as the primary supplier.

See http://www.vodafone.co.uk/employee-advantage-vea/index.htm for the T&C but her HR team will have to confirm if she's eligible.

Hi all, thanks for the replies so far. Will double check that she is 100% eligible for the discount but we are pretty certain that she is.

Looks like we are going to pay the money and get the recordings sent over.

    Thanks

    Hi JamieK7,

Thanks for making me aware of this.

If your wife would like to get this looked into further, ask her to email me with her details via the link in our profile here.

All she'll need to do is copy and paste the link into her web browser and it'll take her to the Contact us form on our website. To make sure it reaches me, she'll also need to quote the code WRT135 - MSE in the subject line.

Once sent, she'll receive an automated reply with a reference number. Post back with this and I’ll check I've received it.

    Kind regards,

    Lee
