Problem with Three & Samsung

Options
Could I ask what my options may be regarding a long running problem I'm having with Samsung and the three network.

Last October I renewed my contract with three for another 24 months and was sent a new handset, a Samsung Galaxy Note3 for an additional cost of £100. Since then I've had no end of problems with the handset which has been faulty from the start, firstly with a faulty proximity sensor and then with three failures of the gps system. On each occasion I've had to endure the uselessness of the three technical staff, one of which had me load a remote access app on the phone and then had me walk up and down the road with google maps on to see if my position moved. It did but I had to inform the 'expert' that the phone also takes location data from known wifi points and triangulation of network signals too. The actual gps wasn't picking up any signals from any of the available satellites (using another GPS Status app).

Anyway, the phone has just come back from being sent direct to Samsung for repair and not only is the GPS still not working, it came back with a screw hanging out of the back cover after not being tightened up properly.

I have complained again to both three and Samsung but to no avail, and they have now even managed to lose the records of the first two repairs the phone had earlier in the year, and want me to go back to the repair centre in Warrington and obtain the repair details from them. Oh, and handily they can send the phone off again for me!

I need the gps function for my work which involves visiting every branch of two well known chains of restaurants throughout the country to carry out energy surveys, all the locations of which are programmed in to google maps, which I use as my sat-nav to get from one site to another.

All I want is the phone to be replaced as this one has been faulty from day one and continues to be faulty despite the efforts of Samsung. I'm happy with my contract with three as it provides all the data and free minutes I need, but without a fully functional phone the contract's not worth much.

My questions are firstly do I have any rights to cancel the contract under the circumstances? and secondly can I make a claim either to Samsung or Three for the time and cost of me taking the phone to the repair centres so many times? Incidentally my trips to repair centres included one occasion where I was told by Samsung to take it to the Samsung Experience store in Liverpool where the staff promptly refused to touch it because it had been repaired elsewhere previously!

Any help or advice offered would be greatly appreciated.
