Hi, what a fab thread! I love Christmas :) I am having parents and inlaws over, so with me dh and ds there will be 7 of us. First time we've done christmas for this amount. I'm sure it will be fine, though.

Christmas pudding - I am making my own for the first time ever. I'm thinking of making it towards the end of September/beginning of October. Everything crossed it goes ok!

Gifts - a lot have been bought. Ds pretty much finished. All children gifts purchased (all on offer/reduced). Dh in progress, but much more purchased at this point than in previous years. Parents/inlaws - joint pressie from ds for each couple. I will be making these myself, there will be a small token for each individual, then, from me and dh. Friends, 3 out of 4 gifts purchased. Grandparents, nothing yet, but have an idea for each one :)

I aim to buy one item a week from the supermarket, starting in September, so that there won't be a massive expense Christmas week for food. Week 1, though, a nice box of chocolates has gone into the basket and we're still way under our weekly budget (I've already planned next week's shop!).

Cards - not sure. We don't give out many. Ds will make his for family (with a little help - he's only 12 months old!). May need 1 more box, will be more organised next year and buy in the sales. Paper - should have plenty. Some in sales, some left from last year. Gift tags - still using some I bought a out 3-4 years ago (may have gone slightly overboard!!).

I'm making patchwork quilts for loads of people this year. I have most of the fabric I need and it takes me a day to make one quilt. I'm currently job hunting so it'll keep me occupied in-between applications.
