Well that glass of wine was a mistake. Not been well at all since! Fever, chills, sinuses, aches, the lot. Better today, but still far from right.
This means time off work. Unpaid time off work. Not happy about not being able to work, but nothing at all I can do about it. I don't think I'm going to make it back at all this week to be honest. Just what we need in the run up to Christmas. So grateful dh is getting a bonus in a couple of weeks!
Anyway, no use complaining.
I've got a mr t home delivery tomorrow, and today managed to meal plan for the next few weeks. Used Pinterest for ideas, as mentioned in another diary I've been [STRIKE]stalking[/STRIKE] taking an interest inI love Pinterest, huge fan, but used it for pretty much everything but food. Hadn't occurred to me at all. I do think I should be blonde at times!

Wow! It's been a whole week since I wrote here. I've been off work ill the whole time. Ended up with laryngitis and felt pretty rough. Much better now, but limiting my work this week as I've been told my voice will be weak for a while. I'm catching up on crafting work whilst I'm off, though, which is a positive
I need to sort out accounts to see where we are exactly now, but less than a week until the end of the month. We have money left in all of the accounts, though not much left in the food/petrol account or the entertainment account. I've had a couple of takeaways - once I started to feel better and eat, I didn't have the energy to cook! That's my excuse anyway!!!

Well, I've just sat and worked through all the bank accounts to see where we stand and whether we actually have any money left this month. As things stand we have:
£10.74 - day to day spends
£18.55 - my personal account
£6.38 - food
£12.35 - petrol
£1.35 - entertainment.
That's £49.37 in total. We have a kitchen full of food, half a tank of petrol in the car (enough to last until the end of the month) and no other urgent spends. Got my son's feet measured the other day and they hadn't grown at all since the time before, so saved a little on his shoes this month.
We may spend a few pounds over the weekend on my son's nursery craft fair and an event in town. It will only be a few pounds, though, if that. I think we are going to reach the last day of the month with a few pounds left over. :j:TStarting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500 -

Thank you Pinkpoppies. Definitely back on track now!
Pay day for one of my teaching jobs today (I work for 2 councils plus an agency!). I was underpaid by a couple of days. Ouch! It means I'm a couple of hundred pounds out, which messes up my plans for the emergency fund at the end of the month. I know I will get it back at the end of December, but it is very annoying now!!!
Busy working on my crafts at the moment, too. Plenty of Christmas orders to keep me going. Tomorrow is my favourite day of the week, though. It's me and my son. No work for me, no nursery for him. Wow!! It has been over a month since I was last here!
Happy New Year everyone.
I'm pleased to say that Christmas came and went without any major money problems. I dipped into my emergency fund (£100) but pleased to say that those credit cards did not come out of hibernation! Even managed to buy a few bits in the sale for next year. The minimums have been paid off the debts over Christmas, but happy with how things have gone.
December was a very quiet month for me in work (thankfully I had my crafts to fall back on for some extra pennies). I am hoping January picks back up otherwise I need to start looking for other work. Everything crossed!!
Well, new year, new me, I know it's the old clich! but I'm starting a new weight loss plan tonight. I'm currently over 12 1/2 stone and have been kidding myself that I'm happy, but I do need to lose weight for my health. I'm joining Slimming World, which I've done before and lost quite a bit of weight for my wedding, but fell pregnant a couple of months later so still working on this baby weight (18 months on!!).
Everything has been budgeted for this month, all money is in the relevant pots. Even me and dh have our own money. Usually any money we receive for Christmas disappears somehow or other, but this year it has gone into our own personal accounts and it is ours for treats. My account hasn't looked that healthy (other than when wages quickly pass through) for a long time. I've decided to treat myself to a new watch (mine is years old, and it is only £15) then the rest is sitting there waiting for the day I decide I'd like something. Possibly new clothes when I lose weight :jStarting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500 -
:hello:
Hello!
I've just popped on to update my signature and pop an update on here. After a very quiet December in work, I'm pleased to say that January is picking up! There will be enough in the account at the end of this month for the bills, food and some money into most of the other spending/savings accounts. Won't be anything going into the emergency fund this month, though. But, I'm really pleased with that after such a quiet December. We've now paid a total 8.2% off our debts, which is good. Can't wait to reach 10%!!
My crafting job is still bringing in a bit extra, which is good. This month it has paid for my Slimming world, as well as a couple of birthday presents and stock ordering. I've bought one of those countdowns with Slimming world which means I've paid up for the next 6 weeks, but it has only cost me 5. I've had 2 weigh ins at a Slimming world as well, the first one I lost 5lbs, and the second I lost 3.5lbs. Chuffed to bits with that! Also, my bmi has moved down from the obese category to the overweight (still got a way to go, but it's all progress!!).
I have noticed I'm spending a bit extra on food now, though. The freezer was looking quite empty after all the Christmas things had gone, so I've started filling it again. Hoping that my food bill will come down a little once I've done this.
I really need to get back into the habit of popping things on ebay now, though. I've got a few bags of clothes, so should get myself organised and see what I can shift, even if it's just to put the money into a new clothes pot for meStarting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500 -
