In John Lewis today, the sales girl told me the Nespresso machines were guaranteed for two years.

Yes, that would be John Lewis's own warranty:

What's the issue with the machine and what response have you had from Nespresso ? They can also see from your account the number of (official) capsules you've used and the number of descaling kits - if you haven't de-scaled as per instructions you probably won't get far with a complaint.
I sent them a message this morning after the thread was posted so will await their response on Tuesday, believe it is a one year guarantee.

I have got descale kits regularly, the left hand button is supposed to dispense a espresso amount of water whilst the right button double the amount of the left.

The left button starts and then stops after a couple of drops, the right works properly and dispenses the correct amount, so cant be blocked lines or scaled up.

Got the machine from comet wealdroam:eek:

Depending on the machine the buttons are programmable - May just be that the left button has been re-programmed in error

Thanks K3lvc, I have redone it but no go. Surprisingly Nespresso have come back to me this morning on a bank holiday weekend, have advised to call their tech team to resolve or they will get one to call me. Will pick it up with them on tuesday
