Good Morning everyone, nice sunny day here today but decidedly cooler and was very cold last night, to the point of having to get up for an extra blanket at 2.30 brrrrrr!!!
A day in the kitchen for me today making Bramble Jelly to store and ratatouille to go in the freezer along with some tomato soup as we've lots ready and ripe in the greenhouse. We had a bit of a problem a couple of days ago as one side of our pond collapsed into itself so we've been trying to re-home the fish via freecycle and 2 people have asked to have them but neither has actually turned up to collect them and the poor things are currently living in a half barrel well netted to keep off the local heron. We said it was urgent that they go back into a pond asap but people haven't even rung to say they'd be delayed, makes me boil!!! We do have one more person who has a localish phone number interested but he only wants a few of them (7 large ones) and then there's the problem of what happens to the others as our pond in not saveable. Normally it wouldn't matter about length of time to collection but this is getting silly, poor old fishes!!!
Hope all our poorlies have a good day today and that everyone has a nice Saturday, Lyn xxx.0 -
Morning all,
beautiful day here again my sis donated dd some bedding for her new house so that is in the wm will hang it out after.
Spent most of yesterday cooking my sis was having a small BBQ this afternoon which has now turned into a large party  so I made a huge amount of flatbreads, about 30 cupcakes and a Birthday cake covered in a huge amount of chocolate with chocolate fingers and malteaserswe will be heading over there at about 2 ish. I need to have a quick clean through and have a shower then pop to the shop for some booze !
We also managed to cut the plum tree back, it seems another tree had grafted itself onto the plum and was growing like mad so we cut that off, it will make a huge difference to the light for the neighbours.
Right time for tea and toast, have good weekends all xx0 -
Good morning everyone
Had a good sleep last night, the day at work had worn me out. Still have aching and bruised hips from being moved around during surgery which wake me up when I turn over but a couple of painkillers before bed seemed to do the trick for those and the actual wounds.
Torrential rain here overnight and all morning too so far, am hoping for a break to get out for a bit of fresh air later.
The new arrivals sound lovely tru, keeping chickens is definitely on my agenda for one day in the future. What sort of jumper and cardigan do you want to make? I love Rowan patterns but they are really expensive but if you join their website, you get a selection of patterns free. Their wool is way out of my price range so I go and check out a label then find something comparable in my stash bag!
We live by the cash only method, it was something we started when we began our debt free journey. It's just too easy to put something on a card and buy extra stuff we don't need but if I have the cash in my purse, we add up the shopping as we go and only get what we have the cash for. Only pain in the backside is A$da petrol stations which only take cards so we have started using Sainsbobs and collecting the extra points towards Christmas.
Bought a couple of very cheap ice cube trays yesterdays so am going to make a load of curry paste and freeze individual portions later.
Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those that need or just want them. Keep well and safe and have a lovely day.

Afternoon all,
have you ever started something and wished you hadn't? Well that's me. Ive pulled our bedroom apart to clean it. Hubby is home so ive asked him to clean the ceiling fan as it really needs cleaning and even standing on the bed I'm not tall enough. Ive pulled out all the drawers out of the bed to clean and theres heaps of stuff all over the floor..... empty boxes mainly because hubby insists on keeping boxes. Theres old Sat top boxes that we no longer need since he bought a new 'all singing, all dancing' one but whilst he keeps all this stuff it is a mammoth task to clean. How many work T shirts does a man need? Ive counted 20 and those are just the ones rammed under the bed. I'm going to sort through them and chuck the shabby ones.
I put some of that Oven Pride cleaner on the oven and shelves last night before bed and left it soaking.... well I say I did, hubby took one look at the hazard warning on the bottle and took it off me. 'You'll burn yourself with this stuff' he moaned so he applied it for me. Hes cleaning the oven for me as I type. The oven wasn't too bad really but I thought I'd try this stuff and I'm amazed at how much grot its shifted. I must say, my hubby is a pain in the backside most of the time but he does know how to protect me.... he wont let me do the garden in case I electrocute myself by going over the cable. Changes light bulbs for me because he says its easier than fixing the botch up I might do by putting one in myself.
Ive got my Grandson tonight, overnight so I'd best get this bedroom sorted.
Onwards and forwards,

Mine usually does it the other way around!
He let's me do something dangerous/silly/unsuitable - with the 'inevitable results' - THEN says 'Why didn't you tell me it needed doing - you've only got to ask?' :mad:0 -

I haven't made my mind up whether its a form of control... so that i'll always need him. Or if its just that he's an Alpha male. Jury is out on that one............. hmmm !

Oh yeah - I very much doubt it
!
The only faith he's got, is that - sooner or later - I'll 'come a cropper'! The number of times that I've got an injury of some kind by 'doing things my own sweet way', don't bear thinking about.
He still tells the tale of how I completely ignored his advice to go a different way resulted in me getting three broken ribs when I fell off a set of stepping stones half way up a mountain side close to Ben Nevis.

Maybe your hubby has got faith in you than mine has in me.:D
Rhubarb - someone was talking about rhubarb crumble (sorry, brainfog - I can't bring to mind who it was). Anyways, I sometimes do "strubarb" crumble, which is half rhubarb and half strawberries, tastes delicious, and doesn't need extra sugar.;)If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

Hubby and I had a mini spat over the empty boxes under the bed.... Well maybe when the other bottoms fall completely out of the drawers in our bed he'll think about chucking the empty boxes.
Waiting for the Grandbaby to arrive. Grandads' asleep. I hope the little mite screams in his ear and wakes him up!
