Been a busy few days with work, only had christmas day and new years day off and worked mon-sat in between.

OH has been given the go ahead to go back to work, so we decided that today would be the better day for him to return as it was the day with the least amount of work and after being off sick for 9 weeks we thought this was best.

We got to Monday and still hadn't had anything confirmed from work about losing hours from 1st Jan, there was talk that between OH and I we would lose 19 hours as part of our work was being contracted out to another firm, so we just expected this as going ahead.
Monday night I got a call from my boss and was told that with the 19 hours there was also another 15 hours between us that was being cut from out work contracts, the boss mentioned that there was another contract that we could take on which would be 20 hours so that made up for some of the hours lost. She also was waiting for a call about the 19 hours we we due to lose, there had been talk that they would stay within our company and that OH and I could still work on the contract. We was told that she would call us on the Tuesday night with hopefully some news.
Tuesday night comes and the boss sends a txt saying there was no news yet, (sigh) we replied back saying that the 20 hours available we would be willing to work on that contract, which the boss agreed to us doing.
Wednesday afternoon we received a sms from the boss saying that the contrcat for the 19 hours had now been extended from the 5th Jan so we could continue with that contract. Just need to speak to the boss on Monday to confirm if all the hours we talked about are still avail for us to do, if so that means we have 42 hours each with company 1.:T

Last few weeks have flown by.

News on the work front is that until the end of Feb OH and I both have 42 hrs with company 1, after that we lose 9.5 hrs each leaving us with 32.5 hrs each with company 1.
With the hrs from company 2 we would still be able to have a reasonable living with out having to cutback things completely.

Money news, mortgage payment has gone out :)
Money saved towards tax repayments due later this year, was also able to save 95.90€ from cuttingback in Dec, bring the total repayments now up to 75%
Some small UK debts have been paid at total of £28.50 s far this month.

OH finally has his tax bill for last year, the money has been sitting in the account since before Sept to pay for this, so paid is straight away just so I now don't forget to pay it.

OH was due some sick pay for Dec which he didn't receive, we contact the sick fund who needs a form filled in from the bosses to confirm that he had no holidays left over from last year, then they would be able to pay him, bit annoyed as we could have got the form ready to be sent off as soon as he went back to work, so now waitign for over 1000 € from them for Dec.
OH went back to work on the 2nd of this month so at least his is earning his full wage again. :)

On that note I better get a move on need to be in work in 20 mins.

Didn't realise it was 2 weeks since I last posted

Small payments have been made to the UK debts a total of £27.00 since my last post.

Managed to stay in budget with all pots and even had some money left over.
I have managed to save 89.30€ from this months shopping budget, I did keep some money back though incase I need a few top up items between now and next weekend when I would do the monthly shopping, if the money is not needed I will add that to next months savings.

OH still hasn't received any money for being off sick in Dec, he had to get a form filled in from work to confirm that he had used all his holiday days last year, hopefully now they will pay us the money we are now due, which works out at 23 days pays.

The money that I have saved this month will go towards tax repayments, meaning I only have 16.18€ next month to repay back.

All savings after that will then go towards saving up to make overpayments towards the mortgage.

Some small payments have been made to the UK debts, only about £28.50 worth, every little helps as they say.

    Mortgage payment has been made.

16.18€ has been paid back to the tax repayments.
Last year I took some money out from both OH's and my wages to cover the extra tax that we will need to pay this year, it is a bit of a pain as I can only estimate how much tax we will need to pay, hopeing that we have enough money saved to cover this and have some left over. Have to wait now till June before I can do my taxes online then I will have more of an idea about how much we will need to pay.

OH had some money for being off sick in Dec last year, I thought he was due to get about 23 days worth of money, they only paid him 20 days, better then nothing though as if he had any holiday days left over from last year then that would have reduced the amount of days he got paid for.

Saved 35.00€ so far this month for mortgage overpayments only a small amount but it will soon all add up, will need to contact the bank to see how I make the overpayments, for the time being the money can sit in the savings account earning us some interest.

*- Work News - As from Monday OH and I both cut down our work hours by 9.5 hrs each, this was a mutual agreement between OH, me and our boss. We decided that with the hours we do from co 1 and co 2 that we were doing enough hours each week, the total hours we did each week weren't the only reason we cut back, it was also due to us both working split shifts 6 days a week and it seemed like we never had any us time, we couldn't really go anywhere unless we took a holiday day off work or waited until Sunday, which was mostly filled up with washing and cleaning the house all the things we didn't get time to do in the week.

*- Money News - Small payments of £15.00 and £6.00 have been made towards the UK debts, seems to be coming down but very slowly, I have also been trying to save some money to offer full and final to one of the 2 smallest UK debts, it will be a few more months until I have enough to offer a reasonable payment to them.

Still have a week until I do my monthly shopping so have left 30€ aside for any top up shops we need between now and next weekend, the rest of the money we had left has been put towards mortgage overpayments, once I get to next weekend I can see how much we have left from the 30€ and will add that also towards the overpayments. Sat will be the start of our new shopping budget.

We have been able to save 35€ towards overpayments of our mortgage, once this gets to 500€ then I will make the overpayment until then I will save this in the bank account. OH will also try and contact the bank and see how we can go about making smaller overpayments, depending on how easy it is for me to do then maybe I will send the payments each month, need to wait and see on that one.

*-Other news- I have a long list of things that need doing which for the last 2 months I have been putting off as I didn't have the time or some days the energy to do them, come Monday when we have less hours each day I should hopefully be able to get some of them done.

Week 1 of less hours and so far I have managed to achive nothing from my long list of things to do.

From the rest of last month topup money (30€)we used about 25€ the remaining 5€ I have added to the overpayments pot.:)

Monthly food shopping was done yesterday, I took 180€ with me to do the shopping and came home with 45€, :T I did also leave some money at home to do top up shops nearer the end of the month and to get fresh fruit and veg when needed. Will need to go to Aldi next week to get water and cola as it is cheaper there than anywhere else here.

Payment of 840.72€ has been made to the Mortgage.
£5 has been made to the UK debts.

Wow where has this month gone too, the days have been flying by.

Small payments of £15 and £23.50 have been paid to the UK debts. A few months and I should have enough saved to offer Full and Final payments to at least the smallest debt and then in july I should be able to offer the 2nd largest debt a full and final, all are on 0% interest and will probably still be by the time I come to pay them all off.

One more week in work then OH and I have a weeks vacation, we have booked to stay in a hotel for a few nights, this will have come out of our holiday money pot, we haven't been on holiday since summer 2013 and are both in need of a break and some time away.

Have booked to have my hair trimmed today as it is in need of it badly, haven't had it cut since 2011 so it is in need of a good trim now to tidy up the ends.

Had my hair trimmed on saturday and it cost me 20.00€ was expecting to pay more for it. :rotfl:

Have ended last month with some money left over from shopping, have left some money aside until I can get to the bank to get money from the machine.
I have put the remainder of the money in my overpayments pot, for March I have put a total of 83.50€ towards the overpayments, :jmeaning I have so far saved 135.60/500 that I was aiming for 27.12%.

£5 has been paid towards the UK debts and 840.72€ has been paid towards the mortgage.

Need to make a list of things to so here so I don't forget them.

    1- Buy swimsuit for holiday
2- Book train tickets for holiday
3- Find all DVD's to take to OH's neice
    4 - Collect OH's medication
    5 - Aldi shopping
    6 - Cat food
7 - Email work hours to company 1
8 - Email work hours to company 2

That's all for now, will add more when I remember them

Still need to go to Aldi for the cola and water that we always get from there.
