Hi everyone!
How quickly have your kids grown out of their shoes? What age were they at the time?
And how soon have you had to buy a new pair?

My 18 month old grew out of a pair of Clarks in 6 weeks - I wasn't happy with the staff there as some of their styles are quite narrow and don't actually fit my LO even in the correct width and they still encouraged me to buy them saying it was "normal"
£25 down the drain for a pair of shoes I couldn't squeeze onto his feet less than 6 weeks later - I won't be buying from there again!0 -
Clarks and Start-Right shoes have always fitted Ok for about 3 months or so. There have been a couple of times we've bought football boots and astro turf trainers which haven't been a great fit to start with and have been unwearable within a couple of months. I always find it frustrating that sports footwear doesn't come in width fittings for children as correct fit and support is even more important when they're running around for a couple of hours or so.0

Our daughter is on her forth pair of shoes in about 11 months, as soon as she outgrows a pair we buy her a new pair, we check her feet in her shoes regularly as we don't want to find out by her having her toes crammed into them.0
-
My daughter went through 5 pairs, every half size from Clarks in 8 months.....so I stopped taking her to Clarks and instead got continental sizes as they don't come in half sizes and she gets much, much more wear out of them. The shoes are more expensive than Clarks but prettier and cheaper in the long run.0

My boy started year 7 last year, shoes were bought two weeks before school, he wore them the first day and came home with blisters because they were too tight!0

My daughter is nearly 4 and we recently replaced two pairs of shoes, one we'd had since last September and the 2nd since December. We only ever go to a local independent shop because as well as measuring her they always check the fit of her current shoes. Even though she'd gone from a 5 1/2 - 6 1/2 size the 5 1/2 shoes she was in still fit perfectly so they just kept telling us to go back in 4-6 weeks and they'd check again. Couldn't ask for better service and they sell both Clarks's and Start Rite shoes so we get a better choice too.
Out of interest I went to a Clarks's store and the woman wasn't even interested in checking the fit of her current shoes - she just automatically said 'she's gone up half a size - i'll go in the back and see what we've got!' Will never go to Clarks's again unless I'm sure that my little girl does actually need new shoes and probably only for sale items.0 -
for my son last year (going into year 2) we bought a full set of uniform and shoes and trainers it all fit perfectly
within 4 weeks the trousers were to short the sleeve arms were to short and he needed a new set of both shoes and trainers as they were too tight
we have already been told he is going to be very tall and he does grow very suddenly and then not anything for a while im just dreading it this year
although it was the only time he grew out of trousers since being at school without going through the knees of themThe only people I have to answer to are my beautiful babies aged 8 and 50 -
My youngest son's feet grew very quickly - until in year 6, he reached size 11. Now, about to start year 10, he is a size 15, but fortunately the speed his feet grow has slowed down. He is averaging a size a year at the moment, and I buy him boots as they last longer.
In maths last year, everyone was asked their shoe size for a maths problem. Unsurprisingly, my son had the biggest feet, and even the teacher was amazed that his feet are so large. Mind you, his height prediction is 6'8".......0 -
dont say that kingfisher lol my sons predicted height is 6'7" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!The only people I have to answer to are my beautiful babies aged 8 and 50
