sky going up again another 10% really made me question why when i only watch 1 live football game every other week . so added up everything im getting totalled this :
Sky Variety package is £28,
Sky Sports is £24.50
line rental 15.40
anytime calls £5
=£72.90
this was confirmed correct by advisor
however if you go to sky to add all the products together they get £73.90 when in your basket . the girl [whos convo i saved] said ill credit you £1 back on your account . but its hardly the solution . as a matter of principle ive cancelled the whole lot i already think the tv price in this country is a total rip off . im off after being taxed for 14 years lol .
when cancelling they offered me everything for £57 a month but im just not intrested . all i need is a wifi connection , i dont need sky . its liberating ... free at last ! feel sorry for families paying over £1200 a year for their services enoughs enough ...
check your sky bill !

Well, if all you use your sky subscription (that includes phone and I assume the free BB pack?) for is one football match every other week, I agree you should cancel - that is really silly paying that out for two matches a month.YNWA

If you are paying less than the current prices, why are Sky giving you back another £1? So effectively you are/were paying £71 a month then?
Are you moving your phone line to another provider? If you have just cancelled it, and it gets cut off, you could be waiting a couple of weeks for the line to be re-activated from your new provider. Unless you have a MiFi device or similar, obviously this would then remove your WiFi connection.0 -

they said 72.90 was correct but online system was totaling it wrong in our online accounts and effectively overcharging people . i wonder how many more are being overcharged cos of the systems creativity ;-)
im shifing my phone and bb im on 31 days notice... tho sky are bombing me with offers to stay lol, free line for a year if i keep my bb was todays email .0 -
Why anyone pays for Sky is beyond me. Aside form the fact that I wouldn't want to give Murdoch any of my money directly, people are paying an absolute fortune and yet still get stuck with adverts for about a third of the broadcast time!
For me I have far too much to watch anyway and if I want to watch a football match I can go down the pub, which still works out cheaper than Sky and money is better spent on real ale!
You could have a very reasonable holiday with the amount some people spend on Sky a year.'I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my father. Not screaming and terrified like his passengers.' (Bob Monkhouse).
Sky? Believe in better.
Note: win, draw or lose (not 'loose' - opposite of tight!)0 -

I have to agree that I also find it outrageous that Sky channels has so many adverts on what are paid for channels.
However, I have an almost perfect solution. The only channels we watch live are the BBC. Anything else we want to watch is Sky+'d, and can be watched at our leisure with a 30x forward of the advert breaks. It's amazing how quickly a programme is over when you do this. Blackadder on Gold lasts about 25 minutes instead of 45.
Even half time during the City-Liverpool match last night enabled the girlfriend to watch half of a Corrie episode."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -

I took it to mean in the 15 minutes at half time when they have the adverts and analysis, the girlfriend was watching something else.
Why you would watch half an episode rather than wait for full time to watch it all seems strange to me though!0 -

You are correct. We did watch the match live but used the half time break to watch half of Corrie.
What's the difference in watching half of an episode of a soap and then going back to live football, rather than watching half an episode and then having five minutes of adverts before the other half begins? We are not yet in our dotage even though we are in our 60's. We can remember what we watched 45 minutes ago!"There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0
