Giffgaff - sensible to have moved?
Options
I joined giffgaff last month and purchased their £12 bundle which expired a few days ago. This bundle deal I see is being rejigged (soonish I suppose) and there's lots of fuss about it....
anyhow I didn't get "proper value" buying this bundle so I doubt I will buy it in the future (especially as it looks like the new deal means more cash for the same deal) I'm unsure whether to bother with a goodybag as they are called. They *appear* good value but part of me just thinks I would be better well paying as I go. I mostly text on my phone and with my old network (Te%co) had their £5 text bundle. I rarely make calls but did like the idea of being able to have the internet option hence buying the £12 goodybag. The internet offered with the £5 bundle is almost not worth bothering with although it seems like extra internet doesn't cost very much.
I wondered if you are with giffgaff and what bundle you have? I was tempted to buy the £5 this evening but then I spotted it expires a month today so it makes sense if I'm going to buy one to buy it at 00.01am!!
oh and what the deal with posting on the forum? can you get points for being helpful? i see you can get points for referring new people to giffgaff but I wasn't sure if the forum also presented an opportunity to gain points?

I see Giffgaff have now postponed the serious increases for 6 months. You can get unlimited data for £15 a month if you are a member before mid-September.
The alternative £15 goodybag will offer 5GB for the next 6 months as well.
It's not as bad as initially thought, but will probably be increasing again early next year.
These are the interim plans that are to be made available.====0 -

Yes you can get points for posting on the forum, so each thread is a cluster!!!! of people who often have no idea what they're taking about posting in an attempt to get payback.
Glad I moved to Three, Giffgaff data speeds are awful!0 -
What is not good value is using giffgaff without buying goodybags. Their base PAYG rates are very poor value compared to almost all the other competition, except Tesco Mobile. So fairly hopeless for low users who can't get through a goodybag inside a month.
I'm also encountering reception issues where none existed before about 6 months ago, so White Mobile is my likely next move.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
See I was paying £5 with te$c0 so I feel reluctant to spend more but then this was only a text bundle and calls I paid for and I never used the internet. I need to decide on a middle of the road giff gaff bundle.
I felt sad leaving te%co as 4p a text but then comparing other call charges etc they were [seemed] higher.0 -
I get the £10 goodybag as it meets my data needs at this time. giffgaff costs me nothing as I contribute enough to the community to get at least £10pm back.
However, I do very much agree the forums can be a right mess as people post duplicate threads all the time in an attempt to get more payback and some of the thread subjects omg!YNWA
