Data Warning on Samsung s5 HELP

Just had a data warning on phone. My phones is using Internet every night at 0.00 hours (I'm in bed phone switched of one cost of £5.00 one £16.00!! Can anybody who is geeky help out

If the phones powered off it wont be using data. Do you mean powered off or just the screen off?

If its just the screen then lots of applications will be looking for updates unless you disabled them.

I dont think i get more than 3 days without an app updating. Sometimes they update twice in one day.

Check to see what apps using how much data.

Firstly, what network and price plan are you on?

£21 is a serious amount of data used on most networks...

The phone probably isn't using data at that time at night, but more that's when your provider tallies up the useage for the day. I.e that's how much you have used and at 00:00 it resets for the following day.

Go to Settings and data usage, it will show you a graph of your usage day by day and show you which apps are using the most data.

If it's when you're at home, do you have the phone connected to your wifi connection? (that would stop data charges) also there's a feature of the S5 where it downloads using the network & wifi at the same time in order to increase download speeds, you may need to disable the function (Settings - Network connections - Dowload Booster).
