To be honest I don't think having Prince2 accreditation will add any value to your IT job hunt in NI. I didn't see many jobs here require PRINCE 2. The place I work got around 30-40 Project managers and only a few got PRINCE 2 or PMP

Thanks, what's the difference between the different types e.g. Overview and Practitioner etc?

Overview is just what it says. Foundation is the basic course, after which you can say you know something about Prince. Practitioner is the certification, which has to be renewed with a refresher exam every few years.
It's possible to take the foundation/practitioner courses in a single week, but it's not advisable without some experience of project management.

I've searched online for facilities around Belfast that complete either ITIL or Prince2 courses and came up with nothing. Am I looking in the wrong places?

A simple google search of Prince 2 Belfast will list several venues in belfast. The 3 results I looked at were BT, Elite and Knowledgeacademy.
The BT and Knowledgeacademy listings also mentioned ITIL.

I think that might be the very reason to have Prince 2 and stand out from the rest.

Prince2 and ITIL certainly appeal to be as someone looking to get into the Business Analyst field along with having a solid foot in the IT field, however if professionals in these fields consider them null then it's pointless.

If you are after Business Analyst post then you should do a CBAP certification. PRINCE2 is generally for Project management.

You need to have more attention to details if you are looking for an IT career. Not judging you, but you couldn't find PRINCE2 course in Belfast and don't bother checking the link I mentioned in the previous post. May be IT is not the area to find a job

That course requires 18 months software development experience which I don't have.
