Looks pretty clear cut.
Your loyalty discount ended on 15th August 2014.0 -

I read that as:

The services were transferred to temporary accommodation in early November 2014.
During my original contract, the loyalty discount had always been applied to the account each month.

I dont recall ever changing anything on the package apart from they automatically upgraded me to a faster broadband which they did with everyone else.
So as far as I can see because I have not changed the package myself, they still stopped the loyalty discount?
When you moved in november (i presume you mean 2013?), did they sign you back up for a 12 month minimum period?
If the discount has ended, theres every possibility you're out of contract - or at least every time I've been offered a discount to extend my contract, its always been for a minimum of that duration.
With virgin i've found it can be down to the luck of who answers your call. But i'd definitely try and speak to retentions again. The first time they told me they couldnt offer me anything. Called back 2 days later to cancel (after looking around at competitors offers) and magically they offered me 25% off my bills and an upgrade in services. You keep using that word. So you've just cancelled your IVA to obtain a DRO and you're not struggling with finances ( https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/66284669#Comment_66284669 ) ? Really?

Have you noticed what others have been telling to you?
You quoted from you July bill:You'Re Receiving A Loyalty Discount It's For £10. If You Change Your Package You May Lose This Discount. Which Will End 15-AUG-14.CoolHotCold wrote: »Looks pretty clear cut.

As has been said... your best bet is to negotiate a new deal with them.0 -
Trouble is if I was to negotiate a new deal it would mean change of contract.
As I want to cancel end of the year, I dont want to do that.
It transpires that the discount was for 2 years.
I just think its a rip off because when I first went with them I was paying £48 and its no £75 after 2 years.
I can get a better deal elsewhere.0 -
Yes, I'd rather have dinner with Teresa May than buy services from Virgin Media0

Well then, You have 3 options.
Negotiate a discount and get tied into another contract.
Shut up and pay the increase.
Cancel and move elsewhere.
GASP, imagine that, prices fluctuate depending on supply and demand along with costs.

Just phone up to cancel your contract and see what they offer. If you can't afford to have it anyway then get rid of it and go for a cheaper option.0
