Yes, freegle is good, or the freebies section in gumtree. I think the library is a good idea.
A new charity shop on the Donegall Rd has just opened up, opposite the first entrance to the City Hospital. They're looking for a lot of stock.0 -

OxfamBooks in Rosemary St in the city centre is definitely still accepting books :-)
In fact we're moving to a bigger shop in Ann St, it'll be opening the first week in October.
Sorry for the blatant advertising0 -
National Trust will take them at places where there is a bookshop, Castleward and The Argory for starters.0

IrishRose12, only just noticed your post - sorry! We can absolutely collect, pop in sometime in October and I'll be glad to arrange to come out.
Our new address will be 35 Ann St, opposite Specsavers and between Cookie Box and KFC.

There is no bookcase - I have been there and checked.0 -
I also hate getting the idea of throwing away old books. Whenever I have a bit of a bookshelf cull I usually select a couple to Bookcross and separate the rest into boxes by genre and Freecycle / Freegle them.Jan NSD 4/15
