  • Yes, freegle is good, or the freebies section in gumtree. I think the library is a good idea.

A new charity shop on the Donegall Rd has just opened up, opposite the first entrance to the City Hospital. They're looking for a lot of stock.

Strange but I spotted a notice up in the charity shop on the Ormeau Road, sorry walking pass so cannot remember which one. We are no longer accepting books.

OxfamBooks in Rosemary St in the city centre is definitely still accepting books :-)

In fact we're moving to a bigger shop in Ann St, it'll be opening the first week in October.

Sorry for the blatant advertising :p

Don't suppose you come out and collect book donations when you move to the Ann street site by any chance??

Between my aunt, sister and myself a few boxes of books, from old boxing books to novels to a whole set of old rare Encyclopedias. Our problem is we have no way of getting them to any of your stores as there are so many and they are heavy.

Belfast central station has a bookcase for unwanted books. Very handy.

Please tell me where this bookcase is - I asked before but for some reason my post seems to have disappeared.

IrishRose12, only just noticed your post - sorry! We can absolutely collect, pop in sometime in October and I'll be glad to arrange to come out.

Our new address will be 35 Ann St, opposite Specsavers and between Cookie Box and KFC.

There is no bookcase - I have been there and checked.
  • I also hate getting the idea of throwing away old books. Whenever I have a bit of a bookshelf cull I usually select a couple to Bookcross and separate the rest into boxes by genre and Freecycle / Freegle them.
