  • Hi everyone! I used to take part in this challenge but haven't been online for 6 months (well I haven't been on here 6 months) and the time has come for me to take a fresh look at finances. Any chance I can join in again? Gotta be frugal for the rest of the month and use up some stuff from cupboards so i'm gonna try and spend no more than £100 between now and October. Thats to include any food i might take away with me so i'd better get meal planning!

Small top up shop at aldee yesterday morning on salad stuff for DH wraps and spot light bulbs. I am not planning on anymore spends until Saturday. I usually shop on my own on thurs or fri for the weekly shop but a new aldee has opened up 5 mins drive from home and DH wants to come along too.

I have 4 x £5 off £30 vouchers for the next 4 weeks which is great but will need to rein DH in when we are shopping as we really don't need much.

Planning to make chicken in creamy mustard sauce from AGCJ book for tea tonight. It is really tasty and a favourite in this house.

It has been growing rapidly and I am now spending just £30 pw for 3 adults on food and we are living very well indeed! The inspiration of course came from right here! I must attend more often.

Did an Ald! shop last night, seem to have spent quite a bit without a huge amount to shop for it :/ £35.22 in total. However we did manage to avoid doing a shop last week by using up bits and having oats with yoghurt instead of cereal with milk for breakfast.

Also spent £2.40 on cedarwood moth repellers as have found more clothes with holes in them (including OH's best suit ), need to do everything in a hot wash too.

Started my next weeks budget, just went for yellow stickers and managed to get : 2 packs of good sausages, Lincolnshire and Richmond for 89p each, 2 x packs of 6 tube yogurts for the kids 49p each and some pizza bases for 79p, we can use those Saturday for movie night.
    Wishing you all good luck!
