"Some people have been selling the vouchers on eBay."
Why do a greedy few spoil something so nice for everyone else?
Just used my last voucher at JL Stratford Westfield and had a chat with the cafe Manager and mentioned about the offer ending in the run up to Christmas. She told me that, yes, it would not be available in November and December and that the offer might change to something else instead.
I suspect cafe was overrun, and perhaps they will offer loyalty vouchers off purchases.0 -
something free with cake and coffee will come along soon chaps, just keep vigilant.0

vigilance it is then!:j:j0

Can I check something..?
I have a John Lewis loyalty card and use it in the shop. I've spent money in John Lewis and used my card but I take it you don't get any loyalty poitns like you do with a Tesco Clubcard i.e for every one pound spent you get a point.
I'm sure that was what was being offered when they first came out but I may be wrong!Albert Einstein “Imagination is more important than knowledge”0 -

No loyalty points but if you also use the John Lewis Partnership (credit) card, you receive vouchers in relation to the amount you spend. The following is one of the FAQs on the JL website:
What's the difference between the my John Lewis card, myWaitrose card and the partnership card?
my John Lewis is a membership card to be used solely in John Lewis shops, Peter Jones or johnlewis.com; it helps us understand what you like, so we can give you the rewards that are just right for you. It's not a payment card, nor does it earn points when you use it. The myWaitrose card works in similar fashion, but you can only use it Waitrose shops and at Waitrose.com
The partnership card is a credit card that earns you points towards John Lewis and Waitrose vouchers everywhere you shop (at any MasterCard outlet worldwide). Representative 16.9% APR variable.
It doesn't offer access to the same rewards and benefits attached to the my John Lewis card, but you can certainly use both in order to gain access to the fullest range of benefits and rewards.0 -
The deal was that John Lewis could track my shopping in exchange for rewards. I am no longer motivated to use my card when shopping, now that I have no freebie. My trust in the brand is dented (unlike in Waitrose). If John Lewis is going to be too busy for them to cope over the Xmas period as mentioned when rationalising the change, I'll help out by shopping elsewhere. (PS If problem is over Xmas period, don't issue free cake voucher for December.)0

The John Lewis Partnership card is very straight forward.
You get 1% cashback in the form of vouchers for John Lewis spending, including Waitrose. You get 0.5% cashback for spending anywhere else, you naughty so and so.
Before the Santander 123 credit card, it was a no brainer, whip out the Partnership card for general spending. Now that I get 3% for petrol spend on the Santander, more thinking is involved.
For Waitrose, I get 1% on either card, but for Sainsburys, the Partnership card is 0.5%, but 1% from Santander.
I bought a £250 item a couple of months ago from Sainsburys. Double Nectar point voucher got me around 500 points, £2.50 cashback from Santander 123. Could easily have whipped out the Partnership card by habit, and lost £1.25 .
In contrast, no cash back from Blacks, the sport shop, with Santander, but you get the general 0.5% with the Partnership card.
Apparently Santander gives you cashback for department stores, but I don't think for John Lewis.
So much work, I wish I won the lottery, so I don't have to worry about these little amounts. But then, it if I started buying first class tickets for £5,000, the 1% cashback promo for travel from Santander, expiring 31st August, will be worth £50. Can my tight little heart bear it, knowing I missed out?0 -
I've only just got one, so I've got a few vouchers to use. TBH I don't often bother going to JL because it's not terribly convenient, but this would have given me more an incentive.Signature removed for peace of mind0

The "missing" vouchers for August just arrived.
on closer inspection, they run from last week of Aug to last week of Sept. etc.
So no longer a calander month.
Still, given that most people will have had a few weeks off in summer, a 2-3 week break is not bad. Just wish they had done a bit more to communicate the change directly with their (loyal) holders of their card. Use of press releases is not the same.0 -
Yes, I signed up just for the freebie. Three times I've cycled 20 miles into Liverpool to enjoy the treat, then ridden home again. It was nice while it lasted. Thanks for the tip-off.0
