  • Not sure what the issue is with them renting flats - many people who rent also want to "work and buy a place", you seem to be suggesting the two are different things. I know I worked hard to buy my own place while renting since the age of 18, it look ten years of sacrifice and saving so trust me, it's not the easy option.

    Anyway, I don't see much of my non-immediate family either - it doesnt mean I don't care for them, also sometimes people drift apart or interests change. Good for you for giving up drinking, maybe you have nothing in common now and your finding a seperate way in life, doesnt mean they have disowned you. Though you sound a bit judgemental to be honest, maybe they have picked up on that and think that it's who no longer want to be part of their lives?
