There are none left.
I don't know why people make such a drama about ordering something, when it can be returned under DSR if they change their mind.
DSR were superseded on 13 June 2014 and there is a discussion going in the Consumer Rights forum just now about being able to return a laptop under the new CCR.0 -
You don't need to make a choice between laptop or tablet - Asus Transformer Book T100 10.1-inch 2-in-1 Convertible Netbook

Their(Argos Outlet) Returns policy states that you can return with 14 days for a full refund if you change your mind.
Will have a look at the new rules too.
Ok...took a look. It's there is not an issue in this case, as thew OP needn't open it. They could even decline delivery. At least they would have the choice, instead of waiting until they are sold out.
Apart from that, let's just say some retailers are better than others.0 -

It pays to pay attention.....OH his eyesight isn't brill so he won't like too small a screen. He uses 15" laptop at present which is fine.
The remaining £215 could have bought a proper laptop for the 'other half'.0 -

Those used transformer units look rather good.
Could go on about linux but probably best left out.
The Argos refurbs are good value.:j0 -
Talking about Argos refurbs, just stumbled on this on the HUKD site.

For £59.99 extremely good value.0 -
Thanks for all suggestions. I'm going to go with laptop and take note I need an i3 processor at least!
I'm not going to buy now until November as I have had a couple of unexpected expenses and DD back off to Uni in few weeks so it will now be his birthday present.
I'm favouring the Toshiba as DD first one was this make and lasted well and they repaired it FOC outside 12 month warranty.

Poppy I would recommend going with an Intel based laptop purely it will give your more power for your buck.
Any of these will do and a better spec then the toshiba it just wont be white.

Out of them i would prefer the ASUS or Toshiba. Die to reliability and how robust they are. All will do the everyday stuff.
Decided I want the Toshiba one but it's been out of stock for a week
