Hi all
I've been with virgin a few years now and whenever my contract is up I've always found that if I phone up to cancel they offer me a pretty good deal. Anyway my contract expired a few months ago and I have got hold of a sky F&F code so I phoned up today to cancel. I would actually rather stay with virgin as I am happy with the service and due to BT sports being included so I was hoping for a decent offer however they just accepted that I was leaving and arranged the cancellation date without any sort of offer to stay. Is this a new tactic to stop people just threatening to leave, has anyone else had experience of this? if so are they likely to phone up a few days before cancellation and make an offer?

What were you countering them with? If it was. 50% off for example they can't compete, additionally vm have pulled some pretty big cos regards sky functionality.
They also know the power of their internet. Adsl sucks0 -
I said I had a sky F&F code. I told them last year tho that I had one of the mse 50% off sky codes and they countered it with a pretty good deal0

That happened with me last time (albeit a year go). Then someone from their retentions called me after a week or two to discuss it.0 -

I have certainly found with Sky that you do have to actually cancel before you get a decent deal. Maybe VM are learning?"There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0

Our contract comes to the end of it's minimum term next month and I managed to negotiate XL TV with Tivo downstairs and V+ HD upstairs, XXL Broadband (152 Mb), and line rental with Talk Unlimited for £59.99 per month inc VAT.Understeer is when you hit a wall with the front of your car
Oversteer is when you hit a wall with the back of your car
Horsepower is how fast your car hits the wall
Torque is how far your car sends the wall across the field once you've hit it0 -
I think there are enough freeview channels now that when we move virgin is getting dumped, hard disk series link digi boxes are easy enough to get now , the house phone seems to be a scammers and ppi hotline so all we need is Internet , I'm confident I can get that for a lot less than the current £600 a year ! That's my car insurance and tax money sorted out :-)0
