now having had the car and had a good play with things this option is not on the car. Looked through the manual and this feature is definitely not an option on my car, did mention it to the dealer when they rang me for something different and they said they cant find the advert but would look for it and ring me back, as of yet - No Phonecall
is it worth following this up or just forget about itquinns2003 wrote: »so its fine for me to pay good money for something advertised and hasn't got.. you would just shrug it off and put it down to experience I suppose
You have clearly considered the shrug it off option as a possibly acceptable one.0 -
Who are you to suppose anything about me?
Simple question. What. Do. You. Want?quinns2003 wrote: »no idea.. that's why I'm asking for advice
Is that seriously the answer you'll give the dealer when they ask you how you'd like it resolved?0 -

What is front and rear park assist? You have park assist or not. You will have front and rear parking sensors perhaps. So unless you clarify then I suggest you might have what was advertised ie parking sensors.0 -
Park assist is different from parking sensors.
I would guess it has parking sensors but the ad said park assist.
Whether it was a genuine mistake, it does seem misleading.0 -

Clue: the process of making a complaint requires you to state what remedy you require. Retrofit or discount?
If only the latter is possible, then you simply have to agree how much that extra was worth.
However, as above it appears that the car was not mis-described if you have front/rear parking sensors. No free lunch, and no free laptop

In that case dont settle for anything less than an all expenses paid trip to Aruba.0 -
piecing together the evidence and condensing the advice: -
1. have you got the advert?
2. Does YOUR car have park assist? forget whether it's auto park assist or bleeper - if NONE then the item has been missold if it wasn't brought to your attention in writing (full spec on windscreen or otherwise) or verbally during the sales patter (tricky to prove). as the car was advertised with it having it on you are entitled to a refund of the amount you thought it was worth - or hand the car back? if you wish to pursue it (doesn't sound like you wish to?)
The problem with cars is choice and options, too many most of the time and it's all to easy for car dealers to miss stuff like this.
I had a nieghbour buy a Ford Puma from a main dealer some years back which came with Air con, at least it had the button for air con, a year later they took it back for the air con to be fixed - turns out it never had air con and Ford were aware of some models that had been built with the button in the dash and that was it?!?!:rotfl:luckily the issue was resolved quickly and the car went back to the dealer, money refunded less wear and tear charge.:TWhen a jar contains rocks, pebbles and sand is it truly full? What about beer?0 -
The correct term for the feature you mention is ford active park assist
This is the system where the car assists with parallel parking
The feature on your car is front and rear parking sensors or park distance sensors0 -
according to the ad which I still have it just says front and rear parking assist but I have nothing , looked through the manuals and defo not fitted to my car.
thx for replies guys0
