Public transport & cycling board

Hello
In a possibly vain attempt to halt the onward spread of my waistline I've recently taken up cycling after a 30-odd year break.
It turns out that, if you're not entirely careful, cycling can become quite an expensive pastime. As a sometime user of the MSE forums I came on to see if there were like-minded MSE-ers discussing cycling (deals on equipment, hints and tips on training, good routes to try out, etc).
It turns out there is a cycling board, but it's lumped in with public transport (as per the title of this thread). As a result, it's quite tricky to find any topical cycling content amongst all the train and bus-related threads.
Is there a good reason why these two seemingly separate topics were merged into one board? Would there be any appetite for a single cycling board (possibly under Sports and Fitness)?
Whaddaya think?:D

Hi Noble Savage
The Public Transport & Cycling board used to be part of a different board, which we separated out. At the time there weren't sufficient posts about cycling alone to make it separate.
There don't seem to be enough posts on the subject at the moment but we'll keep an eye over the next six months or so and have a rethink if we seek it's becoming more popular.
Thanks for the suggestion

It was created to give members a separate board to clump all cyclists into one cohesive lump to vilify.
Apparently cycling has more to do with public transport than motoring.0 -

Thanks Andrea
I guess there's a degree of 'if you build it, they will come' about specific boards. If we look at the current volume of cycling posts - given they're in with Public Transport - it's going to look as if there isn't much demand.
Whereas if a new cycling board is created, it might attract more people like me to post on it. Who knows?
Thanks for responding.0
