Have you ridden yourself of the player/recorder?

So you may be able to transfer them for yourself. Some details of the machine and your computer.

Er ok. My Pc is an acer machine running windows XP home edition (from memory). The camcorder is a samsung about 10-15 years old.

I can provide exact spec when I return home tomorrow.

I've done this with a 10 year old Acer Aspire laptop so you shouldn't have any problems with yours if you haven't filled it with too much bloatware. A video to USB convertor is pretty cheap these days (around £20-30) and they usually come with all the software you need to create DVD's.

Standalone DVD recorder - old models with analogue tuners can be found for buttons on eBay.

Connect output from camcorder to input on DVD recorder. Press record, and play, and wait.

The OP wants to transfer it to DVD, not necessarily to a computer.

You can transcode the files from the PC to DVD Video.

Of course if you can find a DVD Recorder for 'buttons'.....

Yes. Functional DVD recorders recently sold on eBay for less than a fiver. That's 'buttons' to me...
