Just thought I'd add ... http://www.trisomy18.org/site/PageServer?pagename=parents_friend for jo, it has some good support tips.
So sorry to hear it's bad news.No longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -
Jo, I had a little girl who was born at 26 weeks, she lived for 9 weeks before she just had enough. I still love to look at all of the things I was given when she was born, her tiny little hat, teddies and cards. These will be special for Shane's mum and dad because you are validating him as a real person who did have a life, all be it a tiny one. Hugs to you all x
Toto, I am sooo sorry. Thanks!0 -
HAving read about your nephew Jo I had a real lump in my throat that was on the verge of tears when my DS jumped up behind me and shouted BOO, all of a sudden the awful day I have had feeling really hard done by disappeared and I swept him up into my arms and gave him a bonecrusher of a hug as I realised how lucky I really am. It is so easy to take our kids for granted. I am so sorry to hear about Shane's prognosis. I have no words of wisdom to offer, I can understand Toto's feelings for the little outfits and things that belonged to her wee girl (I am so sorry for you and your family too Toto) and perhaps a wee teddy would be lovely. I attended a funeral of a little boy who only lived a couple of days and the parents did a lovely thing, they had a rememberance book for his brother we all wrote something in it for his elder brother and his brother insisted that a picture of his brother be in the next family portrait and you can see him clutching it. It was important for all of them to feel that their wee boy had been and always would be a part of their family even if he could no longer be with them. Heck I am crying again now. Hugs to you and all of your family.0

Jo, I am so so sorry to hear about the diagnosis, I just don't know what to say. I agree with what others have said about buying whatever you were planning on buying, as I'm sure that in time, Shane's possessions will bring them comfort. Toto, hugs to you too, you are truly a beautiful person."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250

So sorry Jo to hear about baby Shane. Words are so inadequate at times like this. XXNothing is so fatiguing as the eternal hanging on of an uncompleted task. William James0

Celebrate what was gained, don't let what was lost spoil that. Guy I work with has a photo of himself cuddling his still-born son.

Hi IA, hi Jo4 - so sorry to hear the sad news, my nephew was still born, its a sad time but time does ease the pain and whilst never forgotten you will learn to live with it. We planted a tree for Patrick and take some comfort and pleasure watching it grow as he would have - perhaps that would be an idea. Take care.
love and hugs
