!!!!!!... we've managed to find a garage that can have a look at it but that means Ste's having to try and get the AA to bring it back to penk..
:wall::wall:
Also the garage that will have a look at it are known for massively overcharging and making up problems (speaking from experience) but it's the only garage local to us that actually has the equipment to look at it.

Hi IA, I've been a furtive reader of your diary for ages now but must make a rare appearance to say pleeeeeease don't let this set back stop you achieving your goals. Like a lot of people on here you've inspired me to sort myself out a bit (still a way to go!).
Anyway, I'm going back to hide now and watch from a distance (how creepy have I made myself sound...?)

I know it is the wrong side of town for you, but it may be worth getting Hopton Garage to look at it. They used to be Rover dealers - now independent - they're just off Beaconside in Stafford. We used to use them when we had our Skoda - their prices are reasonable, they always did a good job and we usually managed to persuade them to lend us a courtesy car whilst ours was being serviced etc. They'll probably have the experience to do the job.
I would hope AA would recover the car to wherever you ask, they took it to a garage that can't do anything with it. When ours broke down on Saturday, the breakdown service came out, looked at it, decided they couldn't do anything with it but told us to ring back on Monday after we knew which garage we wanted ours to go to and they would send someone out to recover it to that garage. They did too!
You've probably already sorted it, but maybe phone Hopton to see if they can help you (sorry, haven't got their phone number any more, but sure they'll be in the phone book.0 -
Hi Jonathan. Thanks for that. Luckily the AA have agreed to take the car to this local garage so thats one weight off our mind. Unfortunately Hopton is too far out of our way in terms of public transport to be able to get there.. and as much as I hate the garage we're having to take it to we don't seem to have much other choice..Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043
