Hi IA, Sorry to but in re new TV but I just want to put my 2p worth in! Please advise Ste to STAY AWAY from any TV that has got built in Freeview.
The main problem with integrated TV's is that they are basically very nice televisions with a freeview box built in to them. The technology in Freeview boxes is changing so quickly that if you spend £700+ on an integrated TV within a year I can guarantee that although the TV itself will still be fab, the freeview technology will be outdated. Have a look for the same model without Freeview built in, and you'll save at least £100. Then grab your freeview box seperately (currently available from as little as £10!!) and plug it in... then if you need to replace the freeview box in a year it's easy to do.
Also, both TV's are HD ready- is this something that's important to you? Please bear in mind that at the moment the only way to watch HD is via satellite. At present, the only company producing the HD boxes are good old Sky, and they're charging a fortune for them! It's unlikely that HD television will be available through an aerial for several years, if ever, so unless you are planning on subscribing to Sky HD channels then I would stick with a non HD ready one- again it's cheaper.
Hope you don't mind me butting in! Any questions re TV's and digital stuff please feel free to PM me- but get the info while you can... I too have a job interview this week...:whistle:Don't suffer alone - if you are experiencing Domestic Abuse contact the National Domestic Abuse Helplines
