    Hi IA

Hope you're not too shattered after K's antics. I've had a good night's sleep for once, so tho I'm not exactly raring to go, I'm up off the starting block, sort of thing. And you have a nice christening to go to? Wrapping paper - hey, isn't there a site that prints out free stuff? Somebody was printing out staves of music for wrapping paper. Or you could let yourself loose in paint or corel or something. Good luck with it...

That'd be a great idea if we had a printer.

Oh rats! Sorry! :o But maybe thats another one for freecycle for the future - there are loads of dead basic printers out there. Mind you, the ink cartridges are cripplingly expensive, so maybe not. What about........... magazine pictures cut out and glued onto newspaper? :money: You can say its a kids craft project? Or........ bite the bullet and spend 60p, if the shops are open that is......... :o:p:confused:

  • How about making the voucher if you have time? Do you have any glitter, bits of ribbon, kiddies paints etc? You could get little 'uns to help.

I was really ill a few years back and I remember the only way I could make a card that I needed to do was lying on the floor with a piece of paper, glue, a bit of cast off tinsel and I cut some foils bells off some discarded Christmas decorations. It took hours as I was so unwell (and Blue Peter never show you how to make stuff whilst lying in agony onthe floor!) but I was so proud when I'd finished it and popped in an envelope!

Sar, we've got a spare printer you would be welcome to have - it's not a really fancy one but it does the job - we got it for free, so we don't want anything for it. Not sure how I can get it to you (could bring it down if Bunny's girls night in goes ahead), but it's yours if you want it. If you manage to get one in the meantime don't worry, but if you haven't got one by then I'll bring it down with me.

I've been lurking for a while, I just wanted to congratulate you on how well you've done! Am feeling all inspired to sort myself out now!

Oh, and also, thanks - my four year old (today!) neice thinks I'm great now - due to your diary, I recognised an 'Iggle Piggle' my nephew was dragging around with him. I am officially the 'cool' auntie now!

  • Morning all. Band practice was great last night. The drummer was ill with man flu/tonsilitis so Ste stood in on drums and it was really good fun. Ste really enjoyed it too and it's the first time he's used his electronic kit 'properly'. It was great! We plugged it into the PA and hooked up an mp3 player with the songs on it so if we messed up we could play along to a backing track. Whoever invented them was a genius...

Apparently the Wii should be arriving today.. I keep winding Ste up telling him it's here and then not.. lol I'm such a b*tch. ;)

2 days to go til citi is no more!!! wooooooo! Ironically Ste's pin arrived for his vanquis card this morning... LOL. Shall I burn it?? ;)

Don't forget he can record his playing too on the kit, so he can play back to see how tight he is. It's also got a great click built in which he can listen to on cans, not sure if he plays with a click or not but it's a really good thing to learn... nearly all pro drummers use them all the time, it takes a little getting used to though. My advice is to use it for any warm up/rudiment practice. I always spend an hour a day simply doing single stroke, double stroke, paradiddles etc. Did that make any sense? :)

I've never known him to play with a click... in fact I have no idea what one is.. (being a bassist and all  ) but will show him this post when he gets home. :) Thanks!
