Morning everyone - at work and just browsing before the day starts, can see a load of papers waiting for me.

Yesterday was spent with my mum who was having an endoscopy under mild sedation. It all went well apart from trying to find a parking space at the hospital, eventually hit lucky but what a faff it was.

At work parking charges start again on 15 September and the daily charge has been raised from £3.00 to £5.00 - NOT paying that! So this morning I drove round the nearest village and found plenty of spaces within 1 mile walking distance so will do that. I used to walk about 7 miles a day in my previous life down south and actually miss the time to my self - listened to music and did loads of thinking. So... walking to the office and back each day will help kick start my fitness regime, am so blooming fat it's not funny anymore! Need to get fitter for my retirement.

Breakfast was egg mayo and a banana. Lunch will be chicken with a yogurt and mint dressing and evening meal will be something else. Not too sure.

Good to hear of everyone's weekend, house moves, The Killers (so jealous), getting better, getting on with things and making the most.

Hope everyone has a happy Monday.
  • Good morning everyone :)

I am home and out of bed but am heading back there soon, I feel and look like I have done a few rounds in a boxing ring and my head is in a post-anaesthetic/painkiller haze. But it's over and done with for this time.

I just read yesterday's posts but they are a bit of a haze too though I remember there was someone new so hello and welcome :hello:

Thank you so much for all your support :A

Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those that need or just want them. Keep well and safe and have a lovely day.

  • Good Morning everyone, just back from walking Docky dog and it's turned into a really nice warm day out there, it was a bit chilly when I went out but now wall to wall sunshine and blue skies, lovely!!!

TTFTM glad you're home and up and about, look after yourself for a few days as there's no point in trying to do too much this early on after the op. Sleep is a wonderful healer particularly after an anaesthetic, so have a nice dozy day and tomorrow will be a better day for you!!!

He Who Knows is away until Thursday and DD2 is taking the Zebra child to visit today as he's not seen baby for a few weeks, don't know what they'll do but if it involves the Zebra it's bound to be fun!!! I'm going to have a sort out of summer clothes in the wardrobe and shed some old things into the clothing bank and look out my autumn weight things as I think the weather is 'on the change' and it's supposed to cool down for the rest of the week. I made 4 big jars of spiced blackberry jam yesterday and looking at the fruit ripe on the bushes today I might have to make some more today, never mind, we'll enjoy it in the colder weather!!!

Hope you all have a lovely day and have this nice sunshine too, Lyn xxx.

Good morning, I'm sleeping in a little later each day, must stop this before it becomes too difficult to get up early.

Yesterday I managed to sort dd1 hair my self. I could actually run my fingers through for the first time in months!

Today will be sorting out the lack of food problem and try to finish our outfits for a wedding this weekend. I got dd1 a dress but she's so skinny I've had to get it taken in. I wish I knew how to use a sewing machine, then maybe I could do it myself or make clothes for her as it's a nightmare getting clothes that fit. I'm hoping she'll be tall enough for adult sizes soon.

Lovely and sunny here today and quite warm. Window cleaner has been, so as soon as I open the blinds I'll see nice clean windows! Today is bed changing and dusting day.

    Have a good day all.

TTFM, hope you are ok, Hilly, great to hear from you, Molly, I hope you are taking care of yourself, hugs to everyone else in need.
I dropped hubby at work at 6:30 & went foraging, I picked another couple of lbs of blackberries, a similar amount of elderberries & some field mushrooms, so it was very successful. I did get some funny looks when I went to the local shop afterwards & bought just vodka & sugar, I did explain & was making blackberry vodka, but I'm not sure I was believed!
Time I made a start on today's chores.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

    Morning All

Thanks for the lovely warm welcome :)

Up & out early to take DS to his seasonal job at Alton Towers, it's good really because it gives me a purpose to get up, I'm struggling to sleep with finishing work so this means I don't lie-in...

I managed my walk yesterday & only stopped once for 'the burn' in the back of my legs - really proud of myself & did it in exactly 60 mins - so that's the target to beat... was really lucky with the weather too because within 3 minutes of getting home the heavens opened & it absolutely belted it down... will go again today now I know I can do it...

I have a wicker basket at the bottom of the stairs for bits & pieces that need to go upstairs... it's stair-shaped on the bottom so fits nicely...

Done a meal plan for the first part of this week as a result of doing the freezer/fridge inventory so that's all good...

Out for a couple of drinks tonight as my BIL is off to Afghanistan for a 6 month stint - he's in the TA... worries me really but what can you do? :(

Hope everyone has a good day :)

Made DH a couple of juices and have chicken broth on hob for later.

DD came home early from driving lesson so just had a quick shower and just about to make them an early lunch.

Leftover mince with veg for dh and leek and tattie soup and home made bread for dd.

Took a huge pile of laundry upstairs for sorting and need to put meal on for tonight. DH suggested walking up to the bungalow we are viewing on Saturday and seeing how far it is on foot to bus stops etc.

Hugs to all and see you later.

    Morning all,

TTFTM - Glad it all went well. Take it easy :)
jlhmd666 - I had the leftover soup for lunch yesterday and have to say it tasted nicer.

I am supposed to be cleaning up but just CBA!! I have been to pick up a hooped petticoat for DD this morning, a bargain at just a fiver and it looks brilliant to me. Popped into Asda and had a try on of a few bits, ended up buying a top and a couple of bits of shopping.
Stopped on the way back to pick some blackberries. Will make an apple and blackberry crumble for pudding tonight.

We did well for last nights dinner. DH had done some work at one of his regular customers friends house yesterday and she had cooked them some lunch as they eat their main meal in the middle of the day. DH explained he had his sandwiches and she put it in a pot for him to bring home. It was biryani and it was wonderful. I hope he gets to work there again :)

Have a good day all :)
