Hi, I have just got my computer back on with orange Livebox. My laptop has a wireless adaptor and used to work ok, Orange shut down my broadband connection and opened it again!
When I open view available wireless networks my livebox comes up but it says automatic. When I click connect it still won't! Please help! It is quite urgent!!

Is the livebox encrypted and if so have you put the exact same encryption key into the laptop's wireless configuration?"She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

When viewing wireless networks, click on Change Advanced Settings.
Goto Wireless Networks tab and delete all preferred networks.
Restart PC and then when you login your PC should find the wireless connection.
When you try to connect, you may be asked for a security key.
Hopefully this will get you connected!!

yes I have tried a lot of things!! I think settings need 'tweaking' but not sure how and why? if that makes sense?

Have you connected by ethernet (cable) to the router to check the wireless settings on it and to make sure everything is ok with the router?"She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Can you surf if you connect to the Livebox using an Ethernet cable? Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

this sounds like a router configuration problem.
you need to connect to router via an ethernet cable, then logon to the router and check the settings
does the router state whether if it is 'wpa enabled' or similar, its possible that whilst you can detect the wireless router, the settings arent letting you log in as you do not have the correct keysmile --- it makes people wonder what you are up to....
