We had a gas engineer round earlier to fix our boiler and when I checked the boiler after the work, the cover wasn't replaced properly and the pressure was too high.

This made me worry and so I asked my landlord for his details so I could check he was gas safe registered (would have asked for his I'd myself if I was here when he did it). My landlord said he was registered, so I asked for his details so that I could double check and she refuses to give them to me.

I don't know what to do as I have no idea if the work that has been done is safe or not, I can't afford to get it checked out myself (and I shouldn't need to). Please can anyone help.

I work in a gas assessment centre. Report landlord to HSE if he still refuses to provide you with evidence "You must issue the latest gas safety check record to: existing tenants within 28 days of the gas safety check record being completed; and to new tenants before they move in." More info here: http://www.hse.gov.uk/gas/landlords/dealing.htm#information

If you believe his work is unsafe, get your own engineer in to have a look. If he finds it unsafe, the last engineer will be reported. Get a CO detector immediately.

Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.
