So what you're saying is your original post was misleading in that the £530 wasn't just for 2 gates.... all the other stuff makes quite a difference to what you had originally asked.....

No, it wasn't misleading, you just needed to have a little experience of these things to realise what had been said, :D:D
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed

Why was this misleading, my original post said gates, this could mean 2 or even 10, whether it was 2 large gates or 10 small gates the cost I posted was still £1100. There's always someone on these forums who wants to have a go.

Thank you to everyone else for your advise. I have decided to have them galvanised and then to paint them myself.

I'd have done the same,;), just watch the paint and primer you use. As I said earlier the correct materials need to be used, (can't recall the brand at present).

  • Another option is to see if a local powder coating specialist would do it for less?

You definitely need them galvanised, and that is best done by the manufacturers. If galvanised/powder coated is only a little more than just galvanised, it has to be the way to go.

He already has combined and separate prices from the manf, and it's considerably more, keep up at the back:D:D

I read it that it was £360+£387 (=£747) for the two procedures separately but only £530 if they were done by the manufacturer? In the OP's words, ".. so £530 seems a good price?". Though the separate prices are from 'phoning round', so not from the manufacturer.

    What am I missing, cyclone?

The fact that it isn't a little more. It's much more, and in may folks view, it is superior if not easier to paint?
