  • It's the standard amount under EU Regulation 261/2004 for a delays of 4 hours+ with a non-EU destination.

We can all work out that 2400 divided by 4 is 600, but I think vuvuzela would like to know on what basis that level of compensation was awarded.

It's not difficult, it's a set amount depending on the length of delay and distance.

Assuming you're correct, that seems like a good result. How was it calculated ?

It was a 6 hour delay on a longhaul flight from an EU airport. As others have said, it is the amount stipulated in the directive for a delay of more than 4 hours on such a flight. I am the OP so details are above.

Cheers. I've never had to claim so have never needed to look up the statutory levels of compensation and had no idea if this was what should have been given or if you'd got anything extra on top.
